Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUMartin, TN – Austin Peay State University’s baseball team fell victim to a home run barrage in a 16-7 Ohio Valley Conference loss to UT Martin, Saturday Night, at Skyhawk Field.

Austin Peay (23-22, 14-12 OVC) jumped out to a three-run lead in the first inning.

Nashville Sounds lose at Round Rock Express, 5-4

 

Jason Pridie Smacks His Team-Leading Third Home Run Of The Season

Nashville SoundsRound Rock, TX – Through 8.2 innings on Saturday night at Dell Diamond, the Nashville Sounds never trailed. Unfortunately, they could not retire that final out and the Round Rock Express walked-off with a 5-4 victory.

The Sounds got out to an early lead. In the top of the first, Ryan Roberts (3-for-4) singled and Kent Matthes (1-for-5) scored courtesy of an interference error on Express third baseman Trever Adams. With the run, the Sounds are now outscoring their opponents 18-4 in the first frame of games.

Clarksville Park and Recreations’ 5th annual Warrior Week Car/Truck/Bike Show to be held May 9th

 

Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – The 5th annual Warrior Week Car, Truck, & Bike Show will be held Saturday, May 9th beginning at 11:00am at Heritage Park.

The show is open to public viewing but to enter your car, truck, or bike you must be an Active Duty or retired military, as well as members of the American Legion, DAV, and VFW with an ID card.

Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library to have Army Historian John J. O’Brien speak about History of Fort Campbell May 4th

 

Clarksville-Montgomery County Public LibraryClarksville, TN – LTC John J. O’Brien, USA (Ret.) will be the featured speaker at the Friends of the Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library’s annual meeting on Monday, May 4th at noon.

O’Brien is currently Fort Campbell Post Historian and has recently written a book entitled A History of Fort Campbell, which will be the topic of his discussion.

Downtown Clarksville paving work to continue next week

 

City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – Contractors for the City will begin work next week to put pavement markings for parking spaces in the downtown area along 3rd Street, Franklin Street, Main Street and Commerce Street.

APSU awards ROTC CSM Darol Walker Award to decorated soldier Kevin Doss

 

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – The recipient of the 2015 Command Sgt. Maj. Darol Walker Award at Austin Peay State University is ROTC Cadet Kevin Doss, a decorated career soldier.

Doss, born in San Antonio, Texas, graduated from Boerne High School in 2001 and attended the University of Texas from 2001-03. He will graduate May 8th from APSU with a degree in Criminal Justice and a minor in Military Science.
