Clarksville Police receive Suspicious Activity Call, arrest Robbery Suspect

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – On Thursday, August 15th, 2019, Clarksville Police responded to a suspicious activity call around 10:00am at 2740 Trenton Road lead to the arrest of, Marcus Parker, that had robbed two businesses several hours earlier, threatening the clerks by displaying a firearm.

The businesses were located in the 2600 block of Trenton Road and the 2600 block of Wilma Rudolph Boulevard with the robberies taking place around 12:30am and 3:00am respectively.

The methodology used was similar in both incidents. He entered the businesses wearing dark clothing with his face covered, displayed a handgun, took an undisclosed amount of money and fled from the scene in a silver vehicle.

Additionally, he took several packs of Newport cigarettes from one of the businesses.

Around 10:00am, Clarksville Police were called to suspicious activity at 2740 Trenton Road in which a man was trying to open doors to residence and then claimed to be at the wrong apartment. When officers arrived, Marcus Parker, ran from them but was caught and had a gun in his possession which met the description of the one used in the earlier robberies.

Also, a silver vehicle was located containing the clothes matching the ones used in the robberies as well as other evidence linking Parker to the crimes.

On an additional note, Parker had left a dog in the silver car, unattended, not running and without any sort of cooling or water for the dog. Officers rescued the panting dog from the hot car and provided for its well-being. The dog was released to Montgomery County Animal Care and Control for safekeeping.

Marcus Parker, age 27 was charged with Two Counts Aggravated Robbery, Unlawful Carrying or Possession of a Weapon, Theft of Property, and Evading Arrest. Parker’s bond is set at $220,000.
