Nashville Sounds defeat Oklahoma City Dodgers, 11-5

 

Nashville SoundsOklahoma City, OK – The Nashville Sounds scored five runs in the first inning and never looked back in a road trip-opening 11-5 win over the Oklahoma City Dodgers Monday night at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

Matt Davidson started the offensive barrage with a three-run homer off Oklahoma City starter J.D. Martin in the first inning. Andy Ibanez joined the home run derby with a solo blast in the second inning and Patrick Wisdom launched a two-run shot in the eighth. For Davidson, it was his team-leading 28th of the season. Wisdom is one shy of Davidson with 27.

TWRA announces Free Hunting Day in Tennessee set for Saturday, August 24th

 

Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency - TWRANashville, TN – On Saturday, August 24th, 2019, Tennessee residents are allowed to hunt without a license which coincides with the opening day of squirrel season as well as being during the August private lands, archery only deer season.

Free Hunting Day is an event the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency annually provides in hopes of increasing interest in hunting. Squirrel hunting is one of Tennessee’s oldest and favorite traditions. The day serves as an excellent opportunity for people to experience the enjoyment of the sport.

APSU Women’s Tennis announces 2019-2020 Schedule, look to defend OVC Title

APSU Men’s Tennis releases 2019 Schedule

 

APSU Men's TennisClarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University (APSU) men’s tennis schedule has been announced for the 2019-20 season by head coach Ross Brown.

“The fall schedule highlights for our men are the home tournament [The APSU Hidden Duel] and the NCAA ITA Regional tournament which will have use facing the best universities in the region,” said Brown. “The spring season is long, starting in January, going through April and hopefully into May.”

Clarksville Police report Passenger Asleep in Vehicle Awakened by Burglar

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – On Sunday, August 18th, Clarksville Police say a woman was asleep in the passenger seat of a vehicle, parked in a slot at a Dover Road gas station around 6:30am while the male driver went inside of the store.

She was awakened by the sound of someone rummaging through the trunk of the car, at which time, she screamed alerting the driver inside of the store. The driver came out and saw a man, with a backpack, had stolen a tool kit from his trunk and was fleeing on a bicycle.

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department’s Special Operations Unit conducts ongoing operations targeting those who provide or solicit sexual services in exchange for money using an internet website.

An ad is posted online and the individuals who answer or place the ad negotiating various prices for the services and agree to meet an undercover officer at a designated location. Prostitution is often linked to other crimes such as robbery, assault, drugs, and human trafficking.

Clarksville Police arrest Reginald Nesmith for displaying Gun during Road Rage

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – According to Clarksville Police, on Friday, August 16th, 2019 around 2:00pm, officers were dispatched to a call about a possible road rage situation involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck and they appeared to be chasing each other.

The vehicles were also observed running a red light. Officer Weissing spotted the vehicles and attempted to pull them over.

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsClarksville, TN – Even though there is still five weeks left before the first official day of fall and one week until classes begin on campus, the athletic school year begins this week for Austin Peay State University (APSU) as the Governors kick-off their official 2019-20 athletic school year this week.

Beginning this Friday, August 23rd, and running through the next seven days after all five of the Govs fall sports (football, soccer, volleyball and men’s and women’s cross country) will kick-off their respective seasons.
