APSU Men’s Cross Country
Clarksville, TN – A week after a disappointing finish in its first eight-kilometer race, Austin Peay State University men’s cross country team will tackle the eight-kilometer course beginning at 9:00pm, Saturday, in the Brooks Memphis Twilight Cross Country Classic, hosted by Christian Brothers at the Mike Rose Soccer Complex.
The Govs faltered late at the Old Timers Classic last weekend, surrendering several positions in the final 2.5-kilometers and falling behind three of the four other Ohio Valley Conference teams competing.

Saturday’s event promises to be a strong test for the Govs with 31 teams from across the south converging, including four regionally-ranked teams and three OVC squads. Among the regionally ranked teams are South Alabama (South Region) and Stephen F. Austin (South Central), ranked No. 6 in their respective regions, and Auburn (South) and UALR (South Central), which are No. 8 in their respective regions. The Govs also will square off against Eastern Kentucky, Jacksonville State and UT Martin.
