The cover feature was a celebration of summer's return. After a year of canceled concerts, festivals and events, the writer argued, we all deserve to experience the highlights of a Clarksville summer in 2021 — and the “Tennessee Summer Bucket List” delivered a season's worth of ideas to make up for lost time.
“Your Guide to Clarksville's Many Public School Alternatives” was a substantive education feature for families weighing their options after a disrupted year. The music pages previewed one of the season's biggest events: the lineup for the Hot August Blues Festival at Liberty Park, set for August 27–28, featuring more than a dozen bands headlined by The Legendary Shack Shakers and Clarksville's own Nightmasters. “Nailed It: We Teach, You Create” spotlighted a hands-on creative business, and “Vintage Clarksville: Camp Campbell” reached back into the wartime origins of the post that became Fort Campbell.
The recurring departments round out an issue built for a community determined to reclaim the summer the pandemic had stolen — from live music to school choices to the history of Fort Campbell, balancing celebration and substance in equal measure.
The issue's community listings surfaced quieter forms of support, among them Focus Autism Now, which has served Clarksville since 2009 with online support for parents of children and youth with autism — offering information, resources, advocacy and leadership tools, and noting, simply, Hablamos Español. It was a small entry with real weight, the kind of local resource the magazine has always taken care to put in front of the families who need it, tucked among the summer bucket lists and festival previews.
