Nashville Sounds fall to Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp, 5-2

 

Nashville SoundsJacksonville, FL – The struggles for the Nashville Sounds continued in a 5-2 loss to the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp Sunday night at 121 Financial Ballpark. The loss was Nashville’s fourth straight and eighth in their last nine games.

Aaron Ashby started for Nashville and struck out nine Jacksonville batters in 3 2/3 innings. The southpaw did not factor into the decision and left in a 1-1 game in the fourth.

Luke Maile evened the game in the top of the third with his first home run of the season. The score remained deadlocked at 1-1 until the top of the sixth when the Sounds took the lead.

Nashville Sounds give up Six Runs late in 9-3 loss to Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp

 

Nashville SoundsJacksonville, FL – The Nashville Sounds fought back from a three-run deficit in the eighth inning on Saturday against the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp, only to allow six runs in the bottom of the inning and fall, 9-3, at 121 Financial Ballpark.

Alec Bettinger turned in another quality start on the mound, but the Sounds suffered their seventh loss in the last eight games and have lost a series for just the second time this season.

The Sounds had just three hits through seven innings and had stranded two runners in the second inning and left the bases loaded in the sixth before coming alive in the eighth.

Nashville Sounds drop Doubleheader at Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp

 

Nashville SoundsJacksonville, FL – The Nashville Sounds suffered a pair of walk-off defeats on Friday against the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp, falling 3-2 and 6-5 in a doubleheader at 121 Financial Ballpark. The Sounds have lost six of their last seven games and three of the four so far in the series.

In Game 1, the Sounds had Jacksonville down to its last strike in the bottom of the seventh when Brian Navarreto hit a two-run homer off Luke Barker (4-2), saddling the Sounds with the 3-2 defeat instead of a 2-1 win.

Nashville Sounds game tonight against Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimps postponed

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – Thursday night’s game between the Nashville Sounds and Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp was postponed due to rain at 121 Financial Ballpark.

The two teams will play a doubleheader on Friday, July 23rd. The doubleheader will be seven-inning games with the first beginning at 4:05pm central time.

Nashville Sounds score Six in the Tenth to defeat Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp, 7-1

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – Weston Wilson broke a 1-1 deadlock with a three-run home run in the 10th inning to lead the Nashville Sounds over the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp 7-1 Wednesday afternoon at 121 Financial Ballpark. Wilson went 4-for-4 with a double, a home run, and four RBIs.

The Jumbo Shrimp took a 1-0 lead in the third inning, but Wilson drove in Dustin Peterson with a two-out single in the fourth to tie the game at one.

Wilson got the rally going in the 10th with a three-run homer to give Nashville a 4-1 lead. Payton Henry extended the Sounds lead to 5-1 with a run-scoring single.

Nashville Sounds held scoreless by Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp

 

Nashville SoundsJacksonville, FL – The Nashville Sounds’ losing skid reached four on Tuesday night, as they totaled just three hits and were unable to take advantage of eight walks in a 4-0 loss against the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp at 121 Financial Ballpark. The Sounds have scored three runs total during their four-game skid.

With all the walks, the Sounds went in order on offense just twice but also stranded 10 base runners, including the bases loaded in the ninth inning with the tying run at the plate. Matt Lipka doubled in the second and had an infield single in the ninth, and Lorenzo Cain legged out on an infield hit in the eighth for the other hit.
