United States Junior Golf Tour at Swan Lake Golf Course greeted with wet, windy conditions

 

United States Junior Golf TourClarksville, TN – Some of the top junior golfers in the south were greeted by wet and windy conditions at Swan Lake Golf Course today as the United States Junior Golf Tour held the first of two events scheduled for Clarksville in 2013.

The tournaments are open to boys and girls ages 8-18, with each age group competing for their division title.

Heritage Bank Announces Montgomery County Scholarship Honoree

 

Heritage BankClarksville, TN – Heritage Bank is pleased to announce Vickie T. Wallace as the 2013 Heritage Bank Scholarship Fund Montgomery County Honoree.

Nineteen seniors from the Montgomery County area will receive the Heritage Bank High School Scholarship in honor of Mrs. Wallace and the commitment she has made to the Montgomery County community.

Russ Shemberger takes 2nd overall at Doc’s Dash 5K in Benton, KY

 

Restore Performance MassageClarksville, TN – Russ Shemberger, a licensed massage therapist at Restore Performance Massage on Madison Street in Clarksville, placed second overall and won his age group (40-49) at the first Doc’s Dash 5K held Saturday, October 13th in Benton, KY.

Shemberger, 46, ran the course in 20:55.

A veteran triathlete, Shemberger is training for the Bowling Green Half-Marathon on November 4th in Bowling Green, KY, along with a number of other races this fall.

Blake had 4 punts for an average of 47 yards per kick while pinning Nashville Christian inside their own 5 yard line on 3 of the 4 kicks. Fort Campbell KY, 101st Airborne DivisionFort Campbell, KY – A remembrance ceremony honoring Soldiers from the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) and Fort Campbell, is scheduled for 4:00pm Wednesday, May 11th at the Division Headquarters building.

Remembrance ceremonies are held to honor fallen Soldiers deployed in support of Operations New Dawn and Enduring Freedom and are held monthly, as needed.

101st Airborne Division loses three soldiers to small arms fire

 

Fort Campbell KY, 101st Airborne DivisionFort Campbell, KY – Three 101st Airborne Division Soldiers were killed March 29th after receiving small arms fire in the Kunar province, Afghanistan.

A total of six Screaming Eagle Soldiers were killed March 29th in separate incidents, while conducting an on-going operation in one of Afghanistan’s most volatile provinces.

The Soldiers were assigned to 2nd Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault.)

James Lindskog, Ofren Arrechaga and Frank Adamski were killed March 29th by small arms fire.
