#13 Tennessee Lady Vols travel to University of Georgia for Sunday matchup

 

UT Lady VolsKnoxville, TN – No. 13/13 Tennessee Lady Vols Basketball (12-3, 1-2 SEC) faces back-to-back road games in a five-day span, beginning with a Sunday matinee at Georgia (11-5, 2-1 SEC) on Jan. 13th. Tip-off is slated for 2:02pmCT at Stegeman Coliseum in Athens, with the game being carried by ESPN, the Lady Vol Radio Network and SiriusXM.

This marks the 68th meeting between these programs in a series that ranks behind only UT-Vanderbilt (80 games) for most times played by Big Orange women’s hoops. The Lady Vols will try to respond in positive fashion from back-to-back home losses to Missouri (66-64) and #16/16 Kentucky (73-71).

Not only did the Governors win that 2017 contest, they did so in resounding fashion by defeating the Eagles, 69-13: the second-highest point total in program history.

APSU FootballClarksville, TN – Two weather delays did nothing to slow down Austin Peay State University (APSU)’s football team in a 24-0 home-opening win against Presbyterian at Fortera Stadium.

In fact, as the weather progressively worsened, the Govs seemed to become more aggressive, breaking off big runs the later the game went on—and it went on pretty late, with the final gun firing at 11:06pm.

Tennessee Vols take care of Presbyterian, 90-50

Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsKnoxville, TN Lamonte Turner scored a career-high 24 points, Jordan Bowden added a career-best 21 and Tennessee tied the school record with 16 made 3-pointers to storm past Presbyterian for a 90-50 win on Tuesday at Thompson-Boling Arena.

The Vols (4-3) shot 16-of-33 from 3-point range, tying for the most 3-pointers made in program history and UT’s most since making 16 against UNC Asheville on November 17th, 2009. Tennessee has now drained 16 3-pointers six times in program history.
