Clarksville Gas and Water Department - CGWClarksville, TN – On Monday, January 11th, 2021, the Clarksville Gas and Water Department began flushing water main lines on Rossview Road and Cardinal Lane causing low water pressure for residents in the vicinity.

The water line flushing is anticipated to be finished and water pressure restored by approximately 11:00am.

Clarksville Police report Emergency Responders rescued Mother and her Baby after they fell through a Storm Grate

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – Around 6:37pm Thursday, December 6th, 2018 emergency responders were called to Cardinal Lane after a woman and baby fell through a storm grate according to Clarksville Police.

A woman was walking through a parking lot carrying her baby, walked across a storm grate and, for an unknown reason, it gave way. The woman and baby fell approximately 20 feet into the storm drain and came to rest at the bottom. The basin of the drain was dry.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation to take part in Summer Food Service Program

 

Meals to be served at Summer Youth Program sites

Clarksville Parks and Recreation DepartmentClarksville, TN – Clarksville Parks and Recreation is participating in the Summer Food Service Program throughout the duration of the City’s Summer Youth Program.

At 14 of the 15 program sites (all sites excluding Crow Recreation Center) meals will be provided to all children without charge and are the same for all children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age, disability, and reprisal or retaliation for prior civil rights activity, and there will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service (not all prohibited bases apply to all programs).

Clarksville Police report Vandals Damage 10 Vehicles over Thanksgiving Holiday

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – According to the Clarksville Police Department, there were 10 cars vandalized over the Thanksgiving Holiday weekend causing over $5,000 in damages.

The cars were struck by BB gun fire in the areas of Richardson Street, Swift Drive, Woodmont Boulevard, Central Avenue, and Cardinal Lane which are in close proximity to each other.

City of Clarksville tackles traffic troubles around Rossview schools

 

City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – City of Clarksville officials are taking steps to improve traffic flow around the Rossview schools campus while a more lasting solution – widening and improving Rossview Road – takes shape over the next 18 to 24 months.

Construction of the $800 million Hankook Tire facility on the north side of Interstate 24 and the related project to widen and rebuild the Exit 8 interchange to serve the plant have worsened school traffic problems.

A school crossing guard controls morning traffic movements at the entrance to Rossview High School. Motorists attempting to turn left into the school from Rossview Road contribute to the traffic jam around the three-school Rossview campus. The city of Clarksville, with the blessing of TDOT, is expediting a project to widen and improve the road and improve traffic flow.
