Austin Peay State University’s annual GuitarFest rescheduled for April 13th-14th

 

The APSU Music DepartmentClarksville, TN – Having fallen afoul of last month’s wintery weather, Austin Peay State University’s annual GuitarFest will now take place on April 13th and 14th in the Kimbrough Building’s Gentry Auditorium.

On April 13th, multi-competition winner and APSU alumnus Gary Stewart will perform a recital of nineteenth century music for solo guitar. The April 14th concert will feature the Hanser-McClellan Duo in a performance of music for two guitars. Both evening concerts are at 7:30pm and are free and open to the public.

Austin Peay State University’s annual GuitarFest to be held February 16th and 17th

 

The APSU Music DepartmentClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University and the Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts present the annual APSU GuitarFest, which will feature guest artist concerts, lectures and workshops.

The concerts take place on Monday, February 16th and Tuesday, February 17th at 7:30pm in the Music/Mass Communication Building’s Mabry Concert Hall and are free and open to the public.

Music Icon Ricky Skaggs Named Entertainer of the Year and Musician of the Year the 17th Annual ICM Faith, Family & Country Awards

 

ICM Faith Family & Country Awards ShowNashville, TN – Music icon Ricky Skaggs was named Entertainer of the Year and Musician of the Year at tonight’s 17th Annual ICM Faith, Family & Country Awards Show.

Guitar Gala Concert at APSU Tonight brings renowned Musicians to Clarksville

 

The inaugural Austin Peay State University Summer Guitar Workshop wraps up with a Gala concert at 7:30pm. Friday, July 2nd, in the campus’ Music/Mass Communication Building. General admission is $10.00, and $5.00 for students and military personnel.
The evening will begin with the announcement of youth competition winners and an awards ceremony hosted by Provost Tristan Denley and his wife, Kim Denley, followed by a performance by competition winners and the workshop’s esteemed artist-faculty.

The faculty at this year’s workshop, which will be an annual event on the APSU campus, includes such guitar luminaries as Tim and Miles Thompson, Richard Smith, Mir Ali, Stephen Aron and Dr. Stanley Yates. «Read the rest of this article»
