Marsha Blackburn, Richard Blumenthal Call for Full Funding of Programs to Prevent Child Exploitation

 

U.S. SenateWashington, D.C. – Senators Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) and Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) wrote today to Senate appropriators to request increased funding for missing and exploited children programs in the appropriations bill currently before Congress.

The letter follows a recent report finding that over 45 million online images and videos were flagged as child sexual abuse last year, and that images are increasing exponentially in number, becoming more extreme, and featuring increasingly younger victims.

Clarksville Police Department issues Public Service Advisory on Child Pornographic Video Circulating on Facebook

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department wants to make the public aware, there is an illegal video being distributed through Facebook Messenger involving a young girl performing an illicit act with an adult male. It has been circulating across the country.

FIRST AND FOREMOST, DO NOT SHARE THIS VIDEO even if it appears to be coming from a friend. There is no purpose to forward, share, or view the video in an effort to catch to catch the perpetrator.

2017 Tennessee Legislative First Session Final Report – Part 8

Tennessee State Representative - District 68Nashville, TN – The first session of the 110th Tennessee General Assembly adjourned on May 10th, 2017, after passing major legislation that will benefit Tennesseans for generations to come. This is Part 8 of a 12 Part report.

This includes a measure making Tennessee the first state in the nation to offer all adults without a degree tuition-free access to community college; a new law rebuilding a safe and reliable transportation network, while reallocating revenues to maximize taxpayers’ return on that investment; and a bill which provides a responsible path to improve access to broadband through investment, deregulation, and education. 

Action in the General Assembly also included passage of a balanced budget which takes on no new debt, as well as legislation protecting the elderly, enhancing the state’s robust job growth, cracking down on crime, and boosting efforts as the fastest improving state in the nation in K-12 student achievement.  Following is a report on key legislation passed this year.

Tennessee Bureau of Investigation arrests, charges Fort Campbell Soldier with Sexual Exploitation of a Minor

 

Tennessee Bureau of InvestigationNashville, TN – Special Agents from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation have arrested and charged a Clarksville Tennessee man in connection to an investigation into illicit online activity.

On September 16th, while working in an undercover capacity, TBI Agents began an investigation on social media websites in search of individuals attempting to make contact with underage individuals for the purpose of sex.

Tennessee Bureau of Investigation arrests Clarksville Man in Child Pornography Investigation

 

Tennessee Bureau of InvestigationNashville, TN – Special Agents from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation have obtained indictments for a Clarksville man in a child pornography case.

As part of an investigation to identify subjects in Tennessee sharing child pornography on peer-to-peer networks, TBI Agents began investigating Cecil Roy Kendall on August 17th, 2014.

As the investigation progressed, Agents developed information the Clarksville man possessed and transmitted child pornography on his home computer.

TBI Child Porn Investigation nabs Rodger Mader of Bedford County

 

Tennessee Bureau of InvestigationNashville, TN – Special Agents from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation have obtained indictments for a Bedford County man accused of possessing child pornography.

Acting on an investigative lead from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, TBI Special Agents began investigating Rodger Lee Mader on April 19th.

During the course of the investigation, Agents developed information that on March 30th, Mader uploaded images consistent with child pornography to his Google E-mail account.

TBI indicts Andrew Hotte of Rutherford County on Child Pornography Charges

 

Tennessee Bureau of InvestigationNashville, TN – The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has obtained indictments for a Rutherford County man charged with sexual exploitation of a minor and aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor.

TBI Agents, with the assistance of officers with the Murfreesboro Police Department and the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office, began an investigation in 2013 to identify subjects in Tennessee using peer-to-peer networks to traffic in child pornography.

Tennessee Bureau of Investigation arrests John Watkins of Wilson County in Child Pornography Case

 

Tennessee Bureau of InvestigationNashville, TN – The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has obtained an indictment for a Wilson County man accused of possessing thousands of images of child pornography.

At the request of 15th District Attorney General Tommy Thompson, TBI Special Agents began investigating John Watkins on March 14th, 2013. During the course of the investigation, Agents developed information that the Lebanon man was in possession of more than 7,500 digital images and six videos that depicted minor children engaged in sexual activity.
