Bark in the Park, presented by Clarksville Parks and Recreation, is a fun, family-oriented event that will feature contests, demonstrations, dog-related vendors and services, and dogs, lots of dogs.

Lasaters Christmas Cash Sweepstakes winner receives $1000

 

Lasaters Coffee & TeaClarksville, TN – Lasaters Coffee and Tea has announced the winner of their $1000 cash sweepstakes giveaway. In a presentation ceremony Friday at the Sango location of the popular coffee shop, Michael Clark of Clarksville received his $1000 check.

In a promotion that included WJZM radio, and Clarksville Online, Lasaters offered a chance to win the one thousand dollars, along with other prizes including an ipad, roku box, and more. The contest received over eight thousand entries.

Modeling ContestClarksville, TN – Shiloh is an 11-year-old Collie mix who was adopted from animal control in Nashville 10 years ago. He worked as a TDI certified therapy dog for 6 years, until he retired this year. His mom, Sandy, entered him in a modeling contest.

The contest is being held by Life+Dog magazine and P.L.A.Y. Pet Lifestyle And You. The winner will model a P.L.A.Y. dog bed in advertisements in Life+Dog magazine, and will also receive a P.L.A.Y. bed. Voting is being done on the Facebook pages of Life+Dog and P.L.A.Y.

Indoor Aquatic Center to Open January 29th

 

Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – The new Indoor Aquatic Center which was originally scheduled to open to the public this Saturday, January 8th, will now open Saturday, January 29th. The change of date is due in part of unforeseen electrical upgrades having to be made as well as the winter weather in the Northeast which has caused delays for the company that is assisting with the installation, Arizon Structures.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation is looking forward to the opening and hopes the public will join us, Saturday, January 29th from 2:00pm-5:00pm at the Indoor Aquatic Center located on Cunningham Lane for the dive in the dome celebration! The opening will feature give-a-ways, demonstrations, contests, and a free gift to the first 50 people to purchase a pool pass! The center will also offer FREE swimming to the public all day long from 10:00am to 6:00pm on opening day.

Do you have a great idea for the 2010 Rivers & Spires Festival poster? The Rivers & Spires Festival is a celebration to showcase Clarksville’s heritage – tell our history, honor our heroes, and cultivate the arts in order to promote tourism and have an economic impact on our Downtown Historic Business District and the community. The winning artist will receive a cash prize and festival perks associated with being selected the winning artist. This is a call for all interested artist—so spread the word the deadline is closing quickly—so get out that camera—or those brushes and paint a winning contribution that will represent the 2010 Rivers & Spires Festival.
