NASA Science, Cargo on it’s way to International Space Station on Northrop Grumman Resupply Mission

 

NASA - National Aeronautics and Space AdministrationWashington, D.C. – A Northrop Grumman Cygnus resupply spacecraft is on its way to the International Space Station with nearly 8,000 pounds of scientific investigations, technology demonstrations, commercial products, and other cargo after launching at 8:16pm CT Friday, October 2nd, 2020, from NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility on Wallops Island, Virginia.

The spacecraft launched on an Antares rocket from the Virginia Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport’s Pad 0A at Wallops and is scheduled to arrive at the space station around 5:20am Monday, October 5th. Coverage of the spacecraft’s approach and arrival will begin at 2:45am CT on NASA Television and the agency’s website.

Northrop Grumman Mission sends NASA Science, Cargo International Space Station

 

NASA - National Aeronautics and Space AdministrationWashington, D.C. – NASA says on the 19th anniversary of the arrival of the first crew to live aboard the International Space Station, a Northrop Grumman Cygnus resupply spacecraft is on its way to the orbiting outpost with almost 8,200 pounds of science investigations and cargo after launching at 8:59am CDT Saturday, November 2nd, 2019 from NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia.

The spacecraft launched on an Antares 230+ rocket from the Virginia Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport’s Pad 0A at Wallops and is scheduled to arrive at the space station around 3:10am Monday, November 4th.

NASA reports Cygnus Cargo Craft brings Research, Supplies to International Space Station

NASA - National Aeronautics and Space AdministrationWashington, D.C. – NASA says that after its capture on April 19th, 2019 at 4:28am CDT, the Northrop Grumman Cygnus spacecraft was bolted into place on the International Space Station’s Earth-facing port of the Unity module at 6:31am At the time of installation, Cygnus was flying 255 miles above the Indian Ocean just south of Singapore.

Cygnus will remain at the space station until July 23rd, when the spacecraft will depart the station, deploy NanoRacks customer CubeSats, then have an extended mission of nine months before it will dispose of several tons of trash during a fiery reentry into Earth’s atmosphere.

NASA reports Cygnus Resupply Ship now attached to International Space Station

NASA - National Aeronautics and Space AdministrationWashington, D.C. – The Orbital ATK Cygnus cargo ship was bolted into place on the International Space Station’s Earth-facing port of the Unity module at 7:13am CDT. The spacecraft will spend about seven weeks attached to the space station before departing in July. After it leaves the station, the uncrewed spacecraft will deploy several CubeSats before its fiery re-entry into Earth’s atmosphere as it disposes of several tons of trash.

Orbital ATK’s Cygnus was launched on the company’s Antares rocket Monday, May 21st, from the Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport Pad 0A at NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia. The spacecraft’s arrival brings about 7,400 pounds of research and supplies to support Expedition 55 and 56.

NASA’s sends New Experiments to International Space Station aboard Orbital ATK Mission

NASA - National Aeronautics and Space AdministrationPasadena, CA – Astronauts soon will have new experiments to conduct related to emergency navigation, DNA sequencing and ultra-cold atom research when the research arrives at the International Space Station following the 3:44am CDT (1:44 a.m. PDT) Monday launch of an Orbital ATK Cygnus spacecraft.

Cygnus lifted off on an Antares 230 rocket from NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia on Orbital ATK’s ninth cargo mission under NASA’s Commercial Resupply Services contract. The spacecraft is carrying about 7,400 pounds of research equipment, cargo and supplies that will support dozens of the more than 250 investigations underway on the space station.

NASA’s Commercial Orbital Transportation Services (COTS) Program comes to fruition with Cygnus cargo spacecraft launch

 

NASA - National Aeronautics and Space AdministrationHouston, TX – After a successful launch on Wednesday, September 18th, the Orbital Sciences’ Cygnus cargo spacecraft is approaching the International Space Station, signaling the coming completion of NASA’s Commercial Orbital Transportation Services (COTS) Program.

The COTS program began back in 2006 with the vision of acquiring cargo resupply and astronaut transportation services to low-Earth orbit from commercial companies.
