Clarksville, TN – On Saturday, May 6th, 2017, Hilltop Supermarket held the 2nd annual Dwayne Byard Memorial BBQ Cook Off. The weather was cool, with a slight breeze. It was just a wonderful day for the event.
Upon arriving at Hilltop, your senses were bombarded with the smell of great BBQ cooking.
The cook off was held in honor of Dwayne Byard who past away two years ago. Proceeds from the event went towards a scholarship fund for Dwayne’s grandchildren.
The smell of rich, sweet smoke was in the air. The aroma of grilling meat set your mouth to watering.

Cunningham, TN – Montgomery County Commissioner for District 6 Dalton Harrison spoke at the 106th Annual Lone Oak Picnic held by the Central Civitan Club.
“I’m going to do something a little different. This afternoon you’ve heard people tell you want you want to hear to get elected. I’m not going to do that,” stated Harrison. “I’m going to tell you the truth and let you make up your own mind.”

Clarksville, TN – Hilltop Super Market held their 5th annual BBQ Cook off Saturday, May 3rd. The weather was warm with a cool breeze. Perfect weather of a barbeque contest. There were teams from miles around competing in the event.
All day long, people were coming and going. There was plenty of food to be had. Anything from hamburger, hotdogs, barbecue sandwiches, ribeye sandwiches and barbecue by the pound.
Clarksville, TN – It was a celebration at White Castle on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard yesterday as City and County officials along with representatives from the Clarksville-Area Chamber of Commerce joined with company representatives to celebrate the completion of the five-month long rebuilding and expansion of their only local restaurant.
The new White Castle, located at 3060 Wilma Rudolph Boulevard, will open to the general public on Sunday, January 26th, at 9:00am, and replaces an older building originally built in 1999.
Cunningham, TN – On Saturday, July 27th, the Central Civitan Club held the 105th Annual Lone Oak Picnic from 9:00am to 3:00pm at the Central Civitan Building located on Alonzo Place in Southern Montgomery County. By 11:00am, the parking area was overflowing with cars and trucks of those in attendance.
“This morning it was threatening rain, but the sun came out and we have a beautiful day for the event,” stated Central Civitan officer Larry Pitts.
Montgomery County, TN – Yesterday, on July 30th 2013 Montgomery County held a groundbreaking and Richellen Park a 52 acre facility that will be built off of Highway 149 in southern Montgomery County to service the Cumberland Heights and Palmyra communities.
The 52 acre park will feature a large pavilion which will have enough space to accommodate larger events such as craft-fairs, trade shows, fundraisers for the community, public gatherings, and you will be able to rent the facility for private events.
Clarksville, TN – The Third Annual Hilltop Barbecue Cook-off featured 12 teams competing in four categories for top prize of $250.00 plus a trophy. Second prize was $75.00 with a trophy and third prize was a plaque. Each judge rated the chicken, pulled pork, ribs or beef brisket for taste, appearance, and texture on a scale from one to ten.
