National Police Week recognizes their selfless service, and a day of memorial is set aside to honor those exceptional officers that made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

With flags mournfully flown at half-staff, the Clarksville Police Department invited family members and community to remember our fallen heroes on Saturday, May 17th, in a gathering of devotion and prayer.

The Clarksville-Montgomery County local Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony will be held Friday, May 17th, 2019, 10:30am at Clarksville Police Headquarters, 135 Commerce Street. The public is invited to attend.

U.S. President John F. Kennedy signed Public Law 87-726 designating May 15th as Peace Officers’ Memorial Day back in 1962, and the week in which May 15th falls as National Police Week.

Sharfyne White found Guilty of Reckless Vehicular Homicide of Two Clarksville Police Officer Up for Parole

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department, along with family and friends suffered a tragic loss on June 7th, 2002.

Two officers David Scott, 42, Yamil Baez-Santiago, 23 were in a vehicle pursuit of Sharfyne L. White, a serial robber, who had just robbed a St Bethlehem motel. They were pursuing White on the 101st Airborne Division Parkway when their patrol car collided with another vehicle near Peachers Mill Road.

Clarksville-Montgomery County honors Fallen Officers at Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony today

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – The Clarksville-Montgomery County law enforcement memorial ceremony was held today at the Clarksville Police Department as part of National Police Week which pays special recognition to those law enforcement officers, locally and across the nation, who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others.

It also serves as time to remember all the other officers who passed away over the years who dedicated their lives to serving our community.

Clarksville-Montgomery County Leaders gather to honor fallen officers

 

City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan joined Clarksville Police Chief Al Ansley, Montgomery County Sheriff John Fuson and other dignitaries Monday morning for the annual observance of Police Memorial Day and National Police Week.

Each year during this week local leaders conduct a solemn ceremony to remember local officers who died in the line of duty, and to honor every law enforcement officer, past and present, for their dedicated service to the community.

Clarksville Police Department reports Sharfyne White to have Parole Hearing October 1st

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – On October 1st, Sharfyne White will have a parole hearing. Mr. White is the individual that committed a series of armed robberies in the Spring of 2002 in Clarksville Tennessee.

On June 7th, 2002 after committing one of these robberies he was evading arrest in a motor vehicle on 101st Airborne Division Parkway and his actions lead to the death of Officer David Scott and Officer Yamil Baez-Santiago.

Section of 101st Airborne Division Parkway dedicated to Clarksville Police Officers killed in the Line of Duty

 

Clarksville Police DepartmentClarksville, TN – Ten years ago, two of Clarksville Police Department’s officers were killed in the line of duty while pursuing a robbery suspect.

In memory of Officers David Scott and Yamil Baez Santiago, Tennessee Public Chapter 533, enacted by the Tennessee General Assembly named a stretch of State Route 374 (101st Airborne Division Parkway) in memory of the officers.

Event will mark the tenth anniversary of tragic deaths of officers

The Seal of the State of TennesseeNashville, TN – Local officials will unveil a highway sign Thursday in memory of Clarksville Police Officers David Scott and Yamil Baez-Santiago, who were killed in the line of duty ten years ago this week, said Tennessee State Representative Joe Pitts.
