Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department, along with family and friends suffered a tragic loss on June 7th, 2002.
Two officers David Scott, 42, Yamil Baez-Santiago, 23 were in a vehicle pursuit of Sharfyne L. White, a serial robber, who had just robbed a St Bethlehem motel. They were pursuing White on the 101st Airborne Division Parkway when their patrol car collided with another vehicle near Peachers Mill Road.
The patrol car burst into flames and both officers were trapped inside.
White fled the scene without any regard for the trapped officers inside of the patrol car.
He was located the next day in a Memphis Hotel after attending a Tyson fight.
On November 4th, 2004 White was found guilty of four counts of Aggravated Robbery and two counts of Reckless Vehicular Homicide and sentenced to 33 years in prison.
Sharfyne White is being considered for parole on October 18th, 2018. The Clarksville Police Department publicly pushed for denial of White’s Parole in 2014.

White will have only served 13 years and ten months since sentencing of his 33 year sentence if he is given parole.
The deaths of David Scott and Yamil Baez-Santiago left a void in the Clarksville Police Department and the lives of the loved ones left behind.
