166 APSU Student Athletes earn a spot on Spring 2020 Dean’s List

 

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University (APSU) is proud to recognize more than 2,500 students who were named to the Dean’s List for academic achievement during the Spring 2020 semester.

The APSU Governors had 166 student-athletes named to the Dean’s List, which is 60 more than in the previous fall semester, despite all of the obstacles these student-athletes were faced with during the spring semester.

APSU Athletes continue success in classroom during Coronavirus pandemic

 

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University (APSU) student-athletes continued their recent string of success in the classroom, the department announcing its 297 athletes combined to post a 3.292 grade-point average during the Spring 2020 semester.

It is the sixth consecutive semester the APSU athletics department has posted a 3.0 GPA or better and the eighth time in department history. In addition, each of the 15 varsity teams recorded a 3.0 GPA for the second consecutive semester.

“I must commend all of our student-athletes for their accomplishments in the classroom,” said APSU Director of Athletics Gerald Harrison.

Red Teams Sweep Inaugural Playmaker Basketball Academy Middle School All-Star Game

 

Playmaker Basketball AcademyClarksville, TN – The bleachers in William Workman Gymnasium at Clarksville High School were full Saturday afternoon as 48 of the best eighth grade student athletes from six different counties in Tennessee and Kentucky took the court for the first ever Playmakers Basketball Academy TN/KY Middle School All-Star games.

The multitude of fans were not disappointed as the players, divided into girls and boys blue and red teams, competed with tremendous effort. The games were filled with great  assists, sharp shooting, aggressive rebounding and floor-diving battles for possession.

Terry Boykin Launches Inaugural Middle School All-Star Game in Clarksville

 

Playmaker Basketball AcademyClarksville, TN – “One, two, three, hard work!” Those words were shouted from center court in the Emmanuel Family Life Center Sunday afternoon by Terry Boykin, founder of the Playmaker Basketball Academy, and 24 huddled middle school basketball players after an intense, fast paced scrimmage.

The players were 24 of the 48 total middle school boys and girls basketball players selected from six different counties in Tennessee and Kentucky, to train and compete in the first annual Playmaker Basketball Academy TN/KY Middle School All-Star Game.

Rossview Middle, Dickson Middle cruse to wins in semifinals of Boys Middle School Tournament

 

Rossview Middle SchoolServall Termite & Pest ControlClarksville, TN – Rossview Middle School and Dickson Middle School had easy nights, Monday, January 26th at Kenwood High School, in the quarterfinal round of the Area 1 AAA Boys Basketball Tournament, with the Hawks defeating Sycamore Middle School 47-29 and the Dragons topped Richview Middle School, 46-24.

For Rossview Middle, the game turned its way midway through the opening quarter after falling behind the Knights 5-0 early-on.
