Nashville Sounds return home Friday for Eight Games at First Tennessee Park

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The first-place Nashville Sounds begin an eight-game homestand on Friday, August 12th when they welcome the Triple-A Affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks – the Reno Aces – to First Tennessee Park.

Following the series against the Aces, the Sounds host the Triple-A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners – the Tacoma Rainiers – for four games from August 16th-19th.

Nashville’s Johnny Hellweg Picks Up 11th Win And 2 RBIs

Nashville SoundsReno, NV – The Nashville Sounds converted 14 hits into seven runs Thursday night at Aces Ballprk to defeat the Reno Aces 7-3 in the series finale.

The win gives Nashville the series split and their 15th Thursday night win of the season (15-3).

The Sounds finish the road trip with a 4-4 record. Nashville strung together three runs in the second inning for the early 3-0 lead.

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds return to Greer Stadium on Friday, August 16th, for their 10th homestand of the season. The Sounds will host the Round Rock Express (Texas Rangers affiliate) for a five-game series.

The homestand will be highlighted by two fireworks shows, Elvis Night, one back-to-school giveaway night, the final Autograph Day of the season, and Deaf & Hard of Hearing Community Night presented by Beltone.

Nashville’s Sean Halton Hits Three-Run Bomb In Loss

Nashville SoundsReno, NV – The Nashville Sounds were no match for the Reno Aces Tuesday night at Aces Ballpark, and gave up a season-high 14 runs in the 14-3 loss.

Trailing 3-2 in the sixth, the Aces batted around to hang six runs on the Sounds. In his first at-bat for Reno, Jake Fox lifted a pinch-hit single into centerfield off of reliever Tim Dillard to give the Aces a one-run lead. Both of the scoring runners reached base off of Zach Kroenke (5-14), who began the inning.

Nashville Sounds drop double-header to Colorado Springs Sky Sox

 

Nashville SoundsColorado Springs, Colorado – The Nashville Sounds never held a lead in either game of the team’s doubleheader against the Colorado Springs Sky Sox at Security Service Field Saturday evening, losing the opener 6-2 and the nightcap by a 4-2 margin.

In game one, the Sky Sox snapped a seven-game skid by hanging a 6-2 loss on the Sounds.

Colorado Springs right-hander Chris Volstad (6-4) worked a seven-inning complete game to earn his first victory since June. The veteran authored a quality start, holding the Sounds to two runs on seven hits in his seven frames, and helped his own cause with a go-ahead RBI single in the contest.

Nashville Sounds blank Tucson Patres in series finale 3-0

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds held the visiting Tucson Padres to only three hits in the team’s seventh shutout victory of the season: a 3-0 win Tuesday night at Greer Stadium.

The Sounds wrap the homestand winning seven of the eight to complete their winningest homestand greater than four games since the 2003 season.
