Vice chair of the Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR) Emily Reynolds gave the keynote address.

Austin Peay State University Spring Commencement speaker to be TBR vice chair Emily Reynolds

 

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – Vice chair of the Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR) Emily Reynolds will deliver the keynote address at Austin Peay State University’s 88th Spring Commencement on May 5th in the University’s Dunn Center.

Reynolds has had an extensive career in public service and politics, having served under two U.S. senators from Tennessee—Senator Howard Baker and Senator Bill Frist. Both men also served as majority leader of the U.S. Senate.

Tennessee Board of Regents Chancellor John Morgan to retire January 31st, 2016

 

Tennessee Board of RegentsNashville, TN – John Morgan, chancellor of the Tennessee Board of Regents, today announced his plan to retire at the end of the month.

Morgan, who has served as chancellor of the state’s university and community college system since October 2010 and led the system’s transformation to become more comprehensive and student-focused, called the announcement bittersweet and said it was timed to acknowledge the accomplishments achieved by the system’s institutions over the past five years.

Austin Peay State University alumnus Wayne Pace receives Tennessee Board of Regents philanthropy award

 

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – Wayne Pace (’68), Austin Peay State University alumnus and former executive vice president and chief financial officer of Time Warner Inc., was recently honored by the Tennessee Board of Regents for his unwavering generosity toward his alma mater.

In late April, TBR Vice Chair Emily Reynolds presented Pace with the 2015 Regents Award for Excellence in Philanthropy.

First Meeting, Open Forum Scheduled February 17th

Tennessee Board of RegentsNashville, TN – The Search Advisory Committee members for a new president of Austin Peay State University have been selected and will meet for the first time on February 17th following a public forum on the APSU campus about the search process.

The advisory committee will meet at 12:45pm Monday, February 17th, on the APSU campus in the Morgan University Center Ballroom. Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam makes appointments to Higher Education Boards

State of TennesseeNashville, TN – Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam has announced the appointments of eight new members and five re-appointments to Tennessee’s higher education boards as well as the selection of the chair of Tennessee Higher Education Commission (THEC) and vice chair of the Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR).

Robert Fisher, Pam Koban and Keith Wilson will serve on THEC. Brad Lampley, Bonnie Lynch, Sharon Pryse and Thaddeus Wilson will serve as new members of the University of Tennessee (UT) Board of Trustees. Deanna Wallace will join TBR as a new member. Tennessee Board of Regents Approves Tuition Increases, APSU sees 3% Increase

 

Nashville State Community College sees Tuition Increase as well

Tennessee Board of RegentsMorristown, TN – The Tennessee Board of Regents  approved maintenance fee/tuition recommendations at its universities and community colleges. Maintenance fee increases are lower this year than in the past two years and will not affect the Tennessee Technology Centers.
