Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans and the Kansas City Chiefs are historic rivals that played an integral role in the formation of the current NFL landscape.

In 1959, late Titans owner K.S. “Bud” Adams, Jr. and the late Lamar Hunt, founder of the Chiefs, spearheaded the “Foolish Club,” a group of eight original American Football League teams that would begin play in 1960.

Game History between Tennessee Titans, Baltimore Ravens

 

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans and the Baltimore Ravens have developed a fierce rivalry over the course of 23 all-time meetings since the series originated in 1996. The frequency of the encounters has slowed, however, with the clubs playing only four times since the start of the 2009 season.

The Ravens have a 12-11 edge in the highly competitive series. Of the 23 games the teams have played against each other, 12 have been decided by four points or less, with the Titans holding a 7-5 advantage in those meetings.

Tennessee Titans, Kansas City Chiefs last meeting

 

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – In Week 1 of the 2017 playoffs, the Tennessee Titans traveled to Kansas City to face the Chiefs on Wild Card weekend. Tennessee scored 19 unanswered points in the second half and did not allow the Chiefs to score in the third or fourth quarter, as the Titans won by a score of 22-21 and advanced to the Divisional Round.

Both the Chiefs and Titans punted on their opening possessions. On Kansas City’s second possession, Chiefs QB Alex Smith drove his offense down the field with help by a 45-yard reception from Chiefs WR Tyreek Hill and a 27-yard reception from Chiefs TE Travis Kelce.

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans and Kansas City Chiefs are historic rivals that played an integral role in the formation of the current NFL landscape. In 1959, late Titans owner K.S. “Bud” Adams, Jr. and the late Lamar Hunt, founder of the Chiefs, spearheaded the “Foolish Club,” a group of eight original American Football League teams that would begin play in 1960.

Adams’ Oilers played in Houston until moving to Tennessee in 1997, while Hunt’s original Dallas Texans moved to Kansas City in 1963. In 1970, the AFL and NFL merged, and the Oilers and Chiefs became members of the American Football Conference.

Tennessee Titans last game against New England Patriots

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – In the AFC Divisional Playoff round following the 2017 season, the Tennessee Titans traveled to the New England Patriots to face the Patriots and were eliminated from the postseason with a 35-14 loss.

The Titans defense forced New England to punt on both of the Patriots’ first quarter possessions. On Tennessee’s second possession of the game, the Titans drove efficiently down the field and constructed a 95-yard scoring drive.

Tennessee Titans last game against Baltimore Ravens

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – In Week 9 of the 2017 season, the Tennessee Titans hosted the Baltimore Ravens and won against the AFC North opponent by a score of 23-20.

Coming off of a Week 8 bye, Tennessee’s aim going forward was to improve on scoring in the first half of contests. On the Titans’ opening drive, the first offensive play was a 29-yard completion from QB Marcus Mariota to WR Rishard Matthews. Tennessee’s third play of the game saw CB Adoree’ Jackson enter on offense and take a carry for a 20-yard gain, but ultimately the Titans settled for a 48-yard field goal by K Ryan Succop to take an early 3-0 lead.

Tennessee Titans last game against Jacksonville Jaguars

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – In Week 17 of the 2017 season, the Tennessee Titans hosted the division rival Jacksonville Jaguars Jaguars and closed out the regular season with a 15-10 victory. With the win, Tennessee earned its first playoff berth since 2008.

The first quarter of play saw both teams punt on every possession. The Titans began the second quarter with possession of the ball, and on just the second play quarterback Marcus Mariota connected with running back Derrick Henry for a 66-yard touchdown reception. The extra point attempt was blocked as Tennessee got on the board first, 6-0.

Last Meeting between Tennessee Titans and Miami Dolphins

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – In Week 5 of the 2017 season the Tennessee Titans went on the road to face the Miami Dolphins and were defeated by a score of 16-10.

With QB Marcus Mariota battling a hamstring injury, QB Matt Cassel made his first start of the season. Cassel was 21-of-32 passing for 141 yards and one touchdown.

In the first quarter, RB DeMarco Murray fumbled the ball on second-and-13 to give possession back to Miami at the Tennessee 42-yard line.

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans (5-3) play their second consecutive home game this week as they host the Cincinnati Bengals (3-5). Kickoff at Nissan Stadium (capacity 69,143) is scheduled for Noon CST on Sunday, November 12th, 2017.

Although it features two AFC teams, the Titans-Bengals game will be televised regionally on FOX, including Nashville affiliate WZTV FOX 17. Play-by-play announcer Dick Stockton and analyst Mark Schlereth will call the action, and Shannon Spake will report from the sidelines.
