APSU FootballClarksville, TN – It’s been 456 days since the Austin Peay State University (APSU) football team walked off the field at Fortera Staduim for the final time in 2019 with a NCAA Playoff victory against Furman.

At 2:00pm, Sunday the Governors will return home when they host Tennessee State in an Ohio Valley Conference contest.

Austin Peay State University Football announces incoming Transfers for 2020 season

 

APSU FootballClarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University (APSU) football team continued to add to its depth during the spring, adding 10 transfer student-athletes for the upcoming 2020 campaign, bringing the total newcomers on the Govs 2020 roster to 31 individuals.

Austin Peay State University Athletics announces renovation to provide all-sport indoor facility

 

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsClarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University (APSU) athletics department, courtesy of the generous support from its donors, announced plans to reconfigure the current indoor tennis center into an indoor practice facility to benefit the department’s student-athletes.

The new indoor practice facility will provide more than 26,000 square feet of practice space. The surface, installed by Shaw Sports Turf, will be a grass-like material with a sand/rubber infill similar in an updated version of the surface at Fortera Stadium.

Instant Peay Play: APSU Governors still have work to do for OVC football title

 

Instant Peay Play - APSU SportsClarksville, TN – With a homecoming victory in their pocket after defeating then Oho Valley Conference leader Tennessee Martin, the Austin Peay State University (APSU) football team needs to remain focused, as they still have some work to do if they are to claim their first OVC regular season championship since 1977.

The Governors, who were ranked 24th nationally before Saturday’s win versus UT Martin, are 7-3 overall this season and are tied for the lead in the OVC, along with Southeast Missouri, with a 5-1 mark, but hold the regular-season tiebreaker versus SEMO with a 28-24 victory over the Redhawks back on October 12th at Fortera Stadium.

Instant Peay Play - APSU SportsClarksville, TN – Two Austin Peay State University (APSU) teams have a big week coming up, as the Governors volleyball and football teams open Ohio Valley Conference play this week.

The Govs volleyball team will get things going by playing a pair of OVC opponents on the road this week, opening with SIU Edwardsville on Friday September 27th and Eastern Illinois on Saturday September 28th, while the football team hosts five-time defending OVC regular-season champion Jacksonville State, 2:00pm, on September 28th at Fortera Stadium.

Instant Peay Play - APSU SportsClarksville, TN – Coming off its first loss of the season to nationally-ranked Central Arkansas, the Austin Peay State University (APSU) football team looks to bounce back on the road versus high-scoring Mercer.

The Governors (1-1) gave No. 18-ranked Central Arkansas (2-0) all they wanted this past Saturday, at Fortera Stadium, taking the game down to the final seconds before coming up short, 24-16, despite losing starting quarterback Jeremiah Oatsvall to a leg injury on their second drive of the game.
