2020 National Memorial Day Concert to be held Sunday, May 24th

 

PBSWashington, D.C. – Tony Award-winner Joe Mantegna and Emmy Award-winner Gary Sinise will co-host a special presentation of the National Memorial Day Concert with new performances and tributes filmed around the country and featuring some of the most iconic and powerful segments from past concerts highlighting stories of generations of ordinary Americans who stepped forward and served our country with extraordinary valor in its most challenging times. Woven throughout the program will be messages from prominent guest artists with words of thanks and support for those who have served and sacrificed for our nation.

Gary Sinise Foundation gives U.S. Army CW5 Gary Linfoot Specially Adapted Smart Home

 

Gary Sinise FoundationAdams, TN – Members of the Gary Sinise Foundation were in town this week to present a specially adapted smart home to United States Army CW5 Gary Linfoot (Ret.), a pilot in the Army’s elite 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne) (SOAR(A)).

Linfoot was injured on May 31st, 2008 while conducting operations in Iraq, when his helicopter suffered catastrophic mechanical failure. Linfoot was severely injured in the crash-landing, Medics evacuated him to Germany for spine stabilization surgery. His treatment then took him to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, the Tampa VA Hospital, and finally the Shepherd Center in Georgia.

Fort Campbell KY - 101st Airborne DivisionFort Campbell, KY – Gary Sinise, actor famous for his critically acclaimed role in “Forrest Gump” and advocate for military personnel and first responders, will sign copies of his latest book, “Grateful American: A Journey from Self to Service,” at the Fort Campbell Exchange.

Copies of “Grateful American” are now available for purchase at the Exchange; limited quantities will be available at the signing. Limit one copy per customer on the day of the event. No other books or materials will be signed. Shoppers may take a photo with Sinise with assistance from an Exchange associate.

Fort Campbell's Morale, Welfare and Recreation - MWRFort Campbell, KY – Army Community Service will run a live feed of the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) Virtual Family Readiness Forums on October 14th from 12:00pm to 3:00pm and again on October 15th from 7:30am to 11:30am, at the Family Resource Center.

The Virtual Family Readiness Forums will be held in Washington, DC at the annual AUSA Conference. Gary Sinise and the Lt. Dan Band held free concert for the soldiers of the 101st Airborne Division

 

USOFort Campbell, KY – Actor, Director, and Musician Gary Sinise visited Fort Campbell with the Lieutenant (LT.) Dan Band to Entertain the Soldiers and their Families on Saturday.

Morale, Welfare and RecreationThe Concert was put on by the USO with the assistance and coordination of the Fort Campbell MWR and sponsored by the TriWest Healthcare Alliance, a Department of Defense contractor that provides access to health care for military families.

Sinise is perhaps best known for his roles as Lt. Dan in Forrest Gump, Astronaut Ken Mattingly in Apollo 13, along with playing Detective Mac Taylor in the wildly popular Crime Scene Investigations TV franchise.

USO and MWR Present Gary Sinise and the Lieutenant Dan Band

 

Morale, Welfare and RecreationFort Campbell, KY – Get ready for a rockin’ good time on August 27th as the USO and MWR present Gary Sinise and the Lieutenant Dan Band in concert. Inspired by his role in the 1994 film Forrest Gump, Sinise has partnered with the USO to travel all over the world to perform free concerts for Service Members and their Families.

The Lieutenant Dan Band covers music from well-known artists including Bruce Springsteen, Linkin Park, Aretha Franklin and Jimi Hendrix. Providing a diverse selection of music, The Lieutenant Dan Band is sure to be a crowd pleaser offering something for everyone. The concert will be held at the Division Parade Field beginning at 7:00pm.
