Clarksville Street Department reports Highway 41A Construction underway

 

City of ClarksvilleClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Street Department announced today that portions of U.S. Highway 41A, north of the Red River Bridge, are under construction in preparation for paving later this month.

Citizens are urged to use caution when traveling from the Red River Bridge to Hermitage Drive along New Providence Boulevard for the next several weeks.

Clarksville Ceremony to mark unveiling of Pastor Jimmy Terry, Sr. Memorial Highway

Tennessee State Representative - District 67Clarksville, TN – On Thursday, July 19th, 2018 at 10:00am  a ceremony will be held to officially designate the naming of a portion of Hwy 41A North, also known as Providence Boulevard, as the Pastor Jimmy Terry, Sr. Memorial Highway at First Baptist Church in Clarksville. 

A presentation of the signage marking the designation will be made to Sister Servella Terry, widow of the late Pastor Jimmy Terry, and she will also make remarks at the event.

The Montgomery County delegation of the Tennessee General Assembly sought passage of the bill to honor the life, legacy and memory of Pastor Terry after his passing in June 2017. 

A portion of Hwy 41A North, known as Providence Boulevard, will be renamed to the Pastor Jimmy Terry, Sr. Memorial Highway.

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office - MCSOClarksville, TN – Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Investigators are asking for the public’s assistance in locating the person(s) responsible for a burglary at Wall Brothers Glass.

The burglary occurred on the morning of June 25th, 2018 between 3:45am and 5:30am. The suspect(s) broke into the business located at 4980 Hwy 41A through a gate on the right side of building.

Once inside the gate they set fire to a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado.

Clarksville Police to conduct Accident Crash Scene Reconstruction

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – On Sunday morning, May 21st, around 6:30am-7:00am, the Clarksville Police Department fatal accident crash team will be doing a reconstruction of a fatality crash which occurred at the intersection of 41A/Tiny Town road.

The reconstruction can cause delays or lane closures at different times. They should be complete by 11:00am. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Junior Auxiliary of Clarksville to host Cheers for Charity, April 29th

 

Junior Auxiliary of ClarksvilleClarksville, TN – Junior Auxiliary of Clarksville will host the 6th annual Cheers for Charity wine tasting from 6:00pm until 10:00pm, Saturday, April 29th, at Sango Event Center.

Cheers for Charity is a blind tasting where teams of two are invited to bring three bottles of the same wine. Upon check-in, two bottles are bagged and numbered for tasting, while the third is set aside to be awarded as part of the Grand Prize. At the end of the evening, the winners of Best Taste will be announced and receive the Grand Prize.

Clarksville Gas and Water reports Clarksville Commons Shopping Plaza Water Outage

Clarksville Gas and Water Department - CGWClarksville, TN – Clarksville Gas and Water has turned off water service in the Clarksville Commons Shopping Plaza on Madison Street and U.S. Highway 41A South to repair a water main leak.

The water outage will affect Food Lion, Wendy’s, Doctor’s Care, Comet Cleaners, Marathon Gas and the Hananoki Shopping Center.

The repair is anticipated to be finished and water service restored by approximately 11:30am.

Clarksville Gas and Water reports Old Excell Road Closed

Clarksville Gas and Water Department - CGWClarksville, TN – Clarksville Gas and Water has closed Old Excell Road from Highway 41A South to Excell Road to install a new natural gas line.

Motorists will be detoured to Excell Road during the work.

The installation work is anticipated to be finished and the road reopened by approximately 3:00pm.
