Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsDallas, TX – For the first time since 2014, Tennessee men’s basketball is heading to the NCAA Tournament, preparing for a first-round matchup with Wright State on Thursday, March 15th at American Airlines Center. The game tips at 11:40pm CT and will be televised live on truTV.

The No. 3 seeded Volunteers (25-8) claimed a share of the SEC Regular-Season Championship after being picked to finish 13th by select media during the preseason. This year’s squad is one of only four Tennessee teams to ever win 25 games in a single season and will be the 21st UT team to represent the Vols in the Big Dance.

Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsStarksville, MS – No. 16 Tennessee heads to Humphrey Coliseum to face one of the hottest teams in the SEC in Mississippi State on Tuesday night, February 27th. The game will tip at 6:00pm CT and will be televised live on SEC Network and streamed online via WatchESPN.

The Vols (21-7, 11-5 SEC) are coming off a pair of wins last week over Florida and Ole Miss. Admiral Schofield was named Co-SEC Player of the Week after averaging 20.5 points 7.5 rebounds and three assists in the wins. His week was highlighted by a dominant performance in Oxford during which he scored a career-high 25 points on an efficient 9-of-14 shooting en route to a 73-65 win over the Rebels. On the season, he ranks second on the team in scoring (12.8 ppg) and first in rebounding (6.9 rpg).

The Vols (20-7, 10-5 SEC) are coming off their 20th regular-season win of the year, the first time achieving that mark since 2009-10 (23), after defeating Florida at home on Wednesday night. Admiral Schofield and Grant Williams fueled Tennessee’s offense, combining for 39 of UT’s 62 points (63 percent) in the matchup. Williams, who finished with game-high 23 points, scored 11 of UT’s final 18 points. Schofield chipped in 16 points.

The Vols (19-6, 9-4 SEC) will be looking to win their 20th game of the year, which would mark the first time UT has achieved the feat since 2013-14 and the first time in the regular season since 2009-10. Tennessee is coming off a 70-67 win over South Carolina on Tuesday, completing the 6-0 season sweep against its three “permanent” SEC opponents (Kentucky, South Carolina and Vanderbilt).

The Vols (18-5, 8-3 SEC) are coming off their first win in Rupp Arena since 2006, beating 24th-ranked Kentucky, 61-59, on Tuesday night. Lamonté Turner was the player of the game, draining the decisive go-ahead three with 26 seconds left in the game. He would finish with a game-high 16 points on four treys. The SEC Sixth Man of the Year candidate has scored in double figures in four straight games and five of the last six, averaging 16.2 ppg during the stretch.

The Vols (15-5, 5-3 SEC) are coming off a road win at Iowa State as part of the Big 12/SEC Challenge last Saturday. UT cruised to a 68-45 victory behind lockdown defense and a 20-point performance from Lamonté Turner, who is the team’s third-leading scorer this season with 10.4 ppg. Turner, who is averaging 30 minutes of action during the last three games, is currently riding a streak of 79+ minutes without a turnover.

Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsAmes, IA – No. 22 Tennessee fought past slow start to defeat Iowa State, 68-45, at Hilton Coliseum on Saturday as part of ESPN’s Big 12/SEC Challenge.
 
The Vols (15-5) are 3-1 when competing in the cross-conference showcase and have now won five true road games this season, which is more than they had all of last season.
 
UT had total control of the game in the second half, holding at least a 15-point lead for the final 18 minutes of play. The Volunteers would knock down 12 threes en route to Rick Barnes 650th career victory as a head coach.

#22 Tennessee Vols Basketball takes care of Vanderbilt Commodores, 67-62

Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsKnoxville, TN – Despite a strong second half by Vanderbilt, No. 22 Tennessee held on to complete the regular-season sweep over its in-state rival, defeating the Commodores, 67-62, in Thompson-Boling Arena on Tuesday night.
 
The Commodores (7-13, 2-6 SEC) would fight back in the second half after facing a 17-point halftime deficit, using a run with eight consecutive made fields goals to pull within four points at 51-47. During the stretch, Vanderbilt senior Riley LaChance connected on four treys and had 15 straight points.

#21 Tennessee Vols gets 70-63 win at South Carolina

Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsColumbia, SC – No. 21 Tennessee went on the road for a hard-fought 70-63 victory against South Carolina at Colonial Life Arena on Saturday night.
 
The Vols (13-5, 4-3 SEC) never pulled ahead by more than nine points during the game but were able to hold their lead for nearly 37 minutes. South Carolina stayed within striking distance with its three-point shooting, knocking six of 10 in the second half. UT was able to counter that with a strong presence down low, scoring 39 points in the paint.
 
During the final stretch of play, Tennessee held South Carolina to just 1-of-11 shooting from the field to spur an 11-3 run, during which UT was 6-of-6 from the free-throw line to seal the victory.
