The No. 3 seeded Volunteers (25-8) claimed a share of the SEC Regular-Season Championship after being picked to finish 13th by select media during the preseason. This year’s squad is one of only four Tennessee teams to ever win 25 games in a single season and will be the 21st UT team to represent the Vols in the Big Dance.

The Vols (21-7, 11-5 SEC) are coming off a pair of wins last week over Florida and Ole Miss. Admiral Schofield was named Co-SEC Player of the Week after averaging 20.5 points 7.5 rebounds and three assists in the wins. His week was highlighted by a dominant performance in Oxford during which he scored a career-high 25 points on an efficient 9-of-14 shooting en route to a 73-65 win over the Rebels. On the season, he ranks second on the team in scoring (12.8 ppg) and first in rebounding (6.9 rpg).

The Vols (20-7, 10-5 SEC) are coming off their 20th regular-season win of the year, the first time achieving that mark since 2009-10 (23), after defeating Florida at home on Wednesday night. Admiral Schofield and Grant Williams fueled Tennessee’s offense, combining for 39 of UT’s 62 points (63 percent) in the matchup. Williams, who finished with game-high 23 points, scored 11 of UT’s final 18 points. Schofield chipped in 16 points.
#18 Tennessee Vols at Georgia

The Vols (19-6, 9-4 SEC) will be looking to win their 20th game of the year, which would mark the first time UT has achieved the feat since 2013-14 and the first time in the regular season since 2009-10. Tennessee is coming off a 70-67 win over South Carolina on Tuesday, completing the 6-0 season sweep against its three “permanent” SEC opponents (Kentucky, South Carolina and Vanderbilt).

The Vols (18-5, 8-3 SEC) are coming off their first win in Rupp Arena since 2006, beating 24th-ranked Kentucky, 61-59, on Tuesday night. Lamonté Turner was the player of the game, draining the decisive go-ahead three with 26 seconds left in the game. He would finish with a game-high 16 points on four treys. The SEC Sixth Man of the Year candidate has scored in double figures in four straight games and five of the last six, averaging 16.2 ppg during the stretch.

UT cruised to a 68-45 victory behind lockdown defense and a 20-point performance from Lamonté Turner, who is the team’s third-leading scorer this season with 10.4 ppg. Turner, who is averaging 30 minutes of action during the last three games, is currently riding a streak of 79+ minutes without a turnover.

In its fifth year, UT holds a 2-1 record when competing in the cross-conference showcase, with both victories coming at home over Kansas State. Last year, the Vols (14-5) downed the Wildcats, 70-58, behind a 17-point performance from Grant Williams.
