Fort Campbell to hold Garrison Change of Command Ceremony June 23rd

 

Fort Campbell KY - 101st Airborne DivisionFort Campbell, KY – United States Army Garrison Fort Campbell will bid farewell to Col. James R. Salome Jr. and welcome Col. Joseph P. Kuchan on June 23rd, 2017 at 10:30am during a Change of Command ceremony in front of the Garrison Headquarters at 39 Normandy Boulevard.

Kuchan, born in Geneva, Switzerland but a native of Peoria, Illinois, was commissioned into the Infantry in 1995 from the United States Military Academy. He has served in a variety of Command and Staff position in the 82nd Airborne Division and 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), and has deployed multiple times to both Iraq and Afghanistan.

APSU ROTC Cadet Zachary Lepley named 2017 Command Sgt. Maj. Darol Walker Award winner

 

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – ROTC Cadet Zachary C. Lepley was presented the 2017 Command Sgt. Maj. Darol Walker Award during a breakfast ceremony held April 27th at Austin Peay State University.

Lepley is pursuing his Bachelor of Science in political science with a minor in military science from APSU.

Austin Peay State University announces Fort Campbell Colonel James R. Salome to deliver keynote at Summer Commencement

 

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – Fort Campbell Garrison Commander Colonel James R. Salome will deliver the keynote address at Austin Peay State University’s 88th Summer Commencement on August 5th.

Salome took command of Fort Campbell on June 18th, 2015, after arriving from Fort Bragg, North Carolina, where he served as the Commander’s Initiatives Group director, U.S. Army Forces Command. Salome previously served with 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, as an operations officer.

Austin Peay awards Decorated Soldier Jose Ramoslopez the APSU ROTC CSM Darol Walker Award

 

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – The recipient of the 2016 Command Sgt. Maj. Darol Walker Award at Austin Peay State University is ROTC Cadet Jose Ramoslopez, a decorated career soldier.

Ramoslopez, born in Puerto Rico, will graduate May 6th from APSU with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice degree and a minor in military science.

Fort Campbell Soldiers and Families attend Earth Day 2016

 

Campbell CrossingFort Campbell, KY – Campbell Crossing’s 2016 Earth Day event was a huge success over the weekend. Fort Campbell Soldiers and family members came out for an afternoon full of exciting games and activities including fun crafts, face painting, educational booths, food from Whitt’s BBQ and more.

Although the event was planned to be outdoors, the rain did not keep residents away. The event held at the Family Resource Center, kicked off with the National Anthem, the Fort Campbell Troop 101 Boy Scouts presenting the Colors, and the Department of Environment-Forestry presenting the Tree City Award to Garrison Commander Col. James R. Salome.

Megasite Railroad Memorandum of Agreement Signing Ceremony Held at Fort Campbell

 

Fort Campbell KY - 101st Airborne DivisionFort Campbell, KY – A memorandum of agreement between Fort Campbell and the Hopkinsville-Christian County Industrial Development Authority was signed Thursday, February 25th, 2016 during a ceremony at the Eagle Conference Room. The purpose of the agreement is to lay the framework for providing rail access via the Army’s railroad line to the Hopkinsivlle Megasite, located just north of I-24.

The memorandum of agreement is a 1-year renewable document that demonstrates the U.S. Army and Fort Campbell’s commitment to the local community and efforts to further economic development.
