Tampa, FL – All signs point to higher gas prices. Gasoline demand is surging while inventories are beginning to slip. Meanwhile, refineries are getting rid of excess winter blend gasoline as they continue to push summer blend fuel into the market, which is more expensive to produce.
Today the national average for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline is $2.32, an increase of 3 cents from last week, up a few fractions of a cent from one month ago, and 26 cents more than this time last year.
Tampa, FL – Motorists saw little movement in pump prices this week. But gasoline could soon be on the rise as spring approaches due to refinery maintenance, an increase in driving and the switch to summer-blend fuels.
Currently, the national average for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline is $2.283, up four-tenths of a cent from last week, down 5 cents from a month ago and 56 cents higher year-over-year.
Some of the lowest regional average gas prices are found in Clarksville and Hopkinsville.
Tampa, FL – Prices at the pump rose slightly this week. The national average for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline is $2.279 today, up nearly a penny from last week, down 8 cents from a month ago and an increase of 58 cents over last year.
“Low demand is keeping downward pressure on gasoline prices,” said Josh Carrasco, spokesman, AAA – The Auto Club Group. “OPEC’s cuts are being offset by increases in domestic oil production, high gasoline and oil inventories and a drop in gasoline demand. Gas prices should remain steady in the near-term before taking their seasonal upswing as we head into the spring.”
Tampa, FL – Motorists continue to see a slow decline in prices at the pump this week. Today’s national average price for regular unleaded gasoline is $2.272 per gallon, which is fractions of a penny less than one week ago, nine cents less than one month ago and 51 cents more per gallon year-over-year.
“Increased domestic oil production and low seasonal demand continue to push gas prices lower,” said Josh Carrasco, spokesman, AAA – The Auto Club Group. “Oil and gas inventories are above-average for this time of year, which should continue to keep downward pressure on pump prices in the short-term.”
Tampa, FL – Increased U.S. crude oil production and lower gasoline demand has kept downward pressure on the national average price at the pump, which has fallen for 20 consecutive days.
Today’s national average price for regular unleaded gasoline is $2.22 per gallon, down eight cents versus last week, a decline of 7 cents compared to one month ago and 41 cents more per gallon year-over-year.
Tampa, FL – Motorists are seeing the gas prices hit their highest average since October, yet motorists saw very little movement at the pump this week. The national average increased 1 cent from last week and has remained above $2.00 a gallon for 53 consecutive days.
“Motorists are seeing some of the highest prices at the pump of the year,” said Josh Carrasco, spokesman, AAA – The Auto Club Group.
Fuel Savings Approach $10 Billion in the First Quarter of 2016 Compared to the Same Period Last Year
Tampa, FL – Americans paid the cheapest quarterly gas prices in twelve years during the first three months of 2016. Motorists have saved nearly $10 billion on gas so far this year compared to the same period in 2015.
The national average price of gas during the first quarter was $1.86 per gallon, making it the cheapest quarter for gasoline since January-March 2004. Gas prices are expected to remain relatively low compared to recent years, though average prices could rise another 25 cents per gallon by Memorial Day.
Oil prices dip below $40.00 a barrel for the first time since 2009
Tampa, FL – Plunging oil prices continue to place downward pressure on prices at the pump. Nationally, gas prices have fallen 7 cents from a week ago, and 14 cents from a month ago. Should oil prices remain at or below their current rate, the national average could dip below $2.00 per gallon by the end of the year.
In the southeastern U.S. the price at the pump has fallen 4 cents in the past week, and more than 20 cents in the past month.
Gas prices remain volatile but could soon be on the decline
Tampa, FL – Gas prices continue to fluctuate as refineries begin to move out of the spring maintenance season and prepare for the summer driving season.
The national average for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline is $2.39, down a fraction of a cent from last week. Motorists continue to enjoy significant year-over-year savings, paying $1.24 per gallon less than last year.
Tampa, FL – During the first 100 days of 2015 the national average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline was $2.27, down $1.13 from 2014. The last time consumers saw the average drop this drastically year-over-year was in 2009, when the average fell $1.22.
“This is positive news for the average motorist who is saving $15.00-$30.00 every time they fill up their tank”, said Josh Carrasco, spokesperson, AAA – The Auto Club Group. “Cheap crude oil has caused gas prices to slide and is saving the American economy over $400 million a day.”
