APSU Softball’s Team Red defeats Team Blue 6-2 in Red and Black World Series

 

APSU SoftballClarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University (APSU) Team Red rallied with a four-run third inning, Monday afternoon at Cathi Maynard Park-Cheryl Holt Field, to take Game 1 of the annual Red & Black Softball World Series by defeating the Team Black, 6-2.

Austin Peay State University Athletics has record 168 Govs named to OVC Commissioner’s Honor Roll

 

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsBrentwood, TN – Another record in the books for Austin Peay State University (APSU) student-athletes, with 168 Govs among an Ohio Valley Conference-record 1,625 league athletes named to the OVC Commissioner’s Honor Roll, Wednesday, August 5th, 2020.

For the fifth time since 2001, the department has put more than 100 student-athletes on the Commissioner’s Honor Roll. The 168 student-athletes honored for 2019-20 set a department record for the third straight year.

166 APSU Student Athletes earn a spot on Spring 2020 Dean’s List

 

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University (APSU) is proud to recognize more than 2,500 students who were named to the Dean’s List for academic achievement during the Spring 2020 semester.

The APSU Governors had 166 student-athletes named to the Dean’s List, which is 60 more than in the previous fall semester, despite all of the obstacles these student-athletes were faced with during the spring semester.

APSU Athletes continue success in classroom during Coronavirus pandemic

 

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University (APSU) student-athletes continued their recent string of success in the classroom, the department announcing its 297 athletes combined to post a 3.292 grade-point average during the Spring 2020 semester.

It is the sixth consecutive semester the APSU athletics department has posted a 3.0 GPA or better and the eighth time in department history. In addition, each of the 15 varsity teams recorded a 3.0 GPA for the second consecutive semester.

“I must commend all of our student-athletes for their accomplishments in the classroom,” said APSU Director of Athletics Gerald Harrison.

APSU Softball sweeps doubleheader against Siena

 

APSU SoftballClarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University (APSU) softball team closed out its seven-game homestand, Wednesday at Cathi Maynard Park-Cheryl Holt Field, by sweeping visiting Siena by 4-1 and 10-2 finals to finish with a 5-2 record over that stretch.

APSU SoftballBowling Green, KY – The Austin Peay State University (APSU) softball team had to rally on three different occasions versus IUPUI, Sunday at the WKU Softball Complex in the consolation game of the WKU Hilltopper Spring Fling, with the last coming in extra innings as the Govs won in walk-off fashion, 11-10.

APSU SoftballBowling Green, KY – The Austin Peay State University (APSU) softball team had its chances, Friday at the WKU Softball Complex during the opening day of the Hilltopper Spring Fling, but left 19 runners on base during the two games in coming up short to Illinois State, 11-4, and to Western Kentucky, 8-4, in the nightcap.
