Clarksville, TN – A late surge almost pushed Austin Peay State University women’s basketball team past Eastern Kentucky, but the Lady Govs were unable to get over the hump against the Colonels, falling 79-71 on Senior Night.
Clarksville, TN – After knocking off Northern Kentucky last weekend, Austin Peay State University women’s tennis team opens the Ohio Valley Conference slate with home matches against Eastern Kentucky (10:00am, Saturday) and Morehead State (10:00am, Sunday).
Saturday’s match will be held at the Austin Peay Tennis Courts, with Sunday’s scheduled to move inside the Governors Tennis Center.

Richmond, KY – Austin Peay State University women’s basketball team closes out the road portion of the 2012-13 schedule at McBrayer Arena, Saturday, when the Lady Govs face OVC East Division-leading Eastern Kentucky in a 3:00pm (CT) tip-off.
The Lady Colonels own a 25-8 mark all-time against Austin Peay in their home gym, although the Lady Govs won the last battle in Richmond, 66-63, January 2nd, 2012.

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University women’s tennis team takes a modest two-match win streak on the road for its final Ohio Valley Conference regular-season weekend.
It starts with a 1:00pm, Saturday match at Eastern Kentucky, followed by a 1:00pm, Sunday match at Morehead State.

Clarksville, TN – A short-staffed Austin Peay State University women’s basketball team was unable to find a game-tying basket in the final two minutes of a 61-59 Ohio Valley Conference loss to Eastern Kentucky, Monday night at the Dunn Center.
Austin Peay (5-14, 2-4 OVC) held the lead three times in the contest but only for a total of 62 seconds. However, one of those brief leads came with 2:15 remaining when Whitney Hanley’s layup gave Austin Peay a 57-56 advantage. That lead would only last 28 seconds before Eastern Kentucky (9-8, 5-2 OVC) regained the lead on Marie Carpenter’s conventional three-point play at the 1:47 mark.
Austin Peay Lady Govs vs. Eastern Kentucky
Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay and Eastern Kentucky will meet for the second time this season in a 5:15pm, Monday contest. The rematch will come just two weeks following the Lady Govs 66-63 victory in Richmond, January 2nd.
Both teams return to action following Saturday losses. Austin Peay dropped a 74-73 decision to Jacksonville State on a buzzer-beating game-winning shot. Eastern Kentucky fell 68-58 at Morehead State for its second OVC loss.

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay continues its three-game homestand when it hosts Jacksonville State in a 5:15pm, Saturday, January 14th contest. Austin Peay brings a two-game win streak (its second this season) into the contest after defeating Murray State, last Saturday.
Jacksonville State, which brings a nine-game losing streak to Clarksville – has struggled to a 3-15 mark this season and is off to an 0-5 start in OVC play, losing its league games by an average of 17.6 points per outing.
Austin Peay Lady Govs vs. Murray State
Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay begins a three-game homestand – its longest this season – when it hosts Murray State in a 3:00pm, Saturday contest at the Dunn Center. The Lady Govs opened the 2012 portion of their schedule with a 66-63 victory at Eastern Kentucky, Monday, to conclude an OVC-opening, three-game road trip.
Austin Peay returns to the Dunn Center seeking to restore its home court advantage after posting a 1-4 mark at home during the 2011 portion of its schedule. Murray State will be concluding its own OVC opening three-game road trip with Saturday’s visit to the Dunn Center. The Racers dropped a 76-51 decision at Eastern Illinois, Monday, and fell to 1-9 on the road this season.

Richmond, KY – A strong start made all the different as Austin Peay State University women’s basketball team rang in the New Year with a 66-63 Ohio Valley Conference victory against Eastern Kentucky, Monday night, at McBrayer Arena.
Austin Peay (4-12, 1-2 OVC) exhibited its full court press early on in the contest and it clearly made a difference at both ends of the court. Offensively, the Lady Govs broke out to a seven point lead in the opening five minutes and led by as many as 13 points in the first period.
