Land Between the Lakes, KY/TN – Trick or treat on the “wild side” at the 22nd Annual Howl-O-Ween program, Saturday, October 22nd, from 1:00pm-4:30pm at Woodlands Nature Station in Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area.
Tickets go on sale at 12:00pm and cost $5.00 per person ages 5 and up, free for ages 4 and under. Nature Station admission included with purchase. First tour leaves at 1:00pm; last tour leaves at 4:00pm.

Land Between the Lakes, KY/TN – Archery deer season begins in September at Land Between the Lakes. Deer hunting information for the 2016-2017 season and specific regulations can be found at visitor facilities and online at www.landbetweenthelakes.us/seendo/outdoor-rec/hunting Hunters should also reference appropriate state regulations.
Hunters must possess a valid State Hunting License/Deer Permit, and a Hunter Safety Card according to Kentucky or Tennessee state regulations. Hunters 16 and older also need a Land Between the Lakes Hunter Use Permit, available online www.landbetweenthelakes.us/reservations
Land Between the Lakes, KY/TN – Hear elk bugle during mating season in September at Land Between the Lakes. The Elk & Bison Prairie is open seven days a week, from dawn to dusk, and features a 3.5-mile paved loop with interpretive stops along the drive.
Passes cost $5.00 per vehicle and can be purchased at the Elk & Bison Prairie entrance gate or at any Land Between the Lakes day-use facility.

$5,000 offered in 1980 Stewart County kidnapping and murder of two teens
Nashville, TN – Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam today announced a $5,000 reward for information leading to the apprehension, arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the kidnapping and murder in 1980 of sisters Carla Atkins and Vickie Stout.
“We believe someone has information that could help solve this case, and we want whoever is responsible for this crime to be brought to justice,” Haslam said. “We ask anyone with knowledge of the case to come forward.”
