Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds cruised to an 8-0, seven-inning win over the Memphis Redbirds on Thursday night at First Tennessee Park.

The Sounds immediately jumped on Redbirds spot-starter Tyler Waldron. Joey Wendle started the rally with a single, then Jason Pridie walked and Jake Smolinski reached on an infield single to load the bases for Max Muncy.

Muncy then walked to drive in a run. In his first career Triple-A plate appearance, Rangel Ravelo came up next and delivered for Nashville, knocking in two with a single and the Sounds led 3-0.

Nashville Sounds Belt Three Homers, Led By Jason Pridie’s Team-Leading 12th

Nashville SoundsMemphis, TN – Despite belting three home runs, the Nashville Sounds came up on the short end of a 5-4 defeat at the hands of the Memphis Redbirds on Saturday evening at AutoZone Park.

With its win, Memphis evened the series at two games apiece and knotted the season series between the clubs at 5-5 as the cross-state rivals duke it out for possession of the Tennessee Lottery I-40 Cup.

The defeat was Nashville’s 16th one-run loss of the year, 2nd-most in the Pacific Coast League.

Nashville Sounds lose 3-2 to Iowa Cubs in extra innings

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds had one out to go before picking up their eighth shutout victory of the season, but the Iowa Cubs battled back Sunday night to force extras before handing Nashville the 3-2 loss at Greer Stadium.

Iowa’s first baseman Greg Rohan hit the game-winning home run off the guitar scoreboard in the 10th inning, but it was former Sound Edwin Maysonet who kept the Cubs in the game with his at-bat in the 9th inning, hitting the game-tying two-run single up the middle facing two outs in the ninth inning.

Nashville Sounds get 3-2 win over Iowa Cubs

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds kicked off their final homestand of the season with a 3-2 victory over the division-rival Iowa Cubs in front of 5,667 fans on Friday evening at Greer Stadium.

PCL Pitcher of the Year Johnny Hellweg (12-5) turned in a solid final start to close out his first Triple-A season, logging his team-leading 12th quality start to earn the victory.

Nashville Sounds lose Double Header to Iowa Cubs

 

Nashville SoundsDes Moines, IA – After rallying to tie both contests of Friday’s doubleheader at Principal Park, the Nashville Sounds could not keep pace with the Iowa Cubs, who delivered seven home runs on the night to defeat Nashville 5-4 and 8-6.

In game one, the Sounds cracked two home runs, but lost the seven-inning affair, 5-4.

After Sounds outfielder Khris Davis knotted the game in the fifth with his seventh home run of the year, the Cubs pulled back out to a one-run lead with their third homer of the game. Infielder Brad Nelson knocked a deep shot to right field off of reliever Jesus Sanchez (3-1).

R.J. Seidel Earns First Triple-A Win With Solid Outing

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – Scooter Gennett belted his first home run of the year and Sean Halton smacked a grand slam to power the Nashville Sounds to a 6-1 win over the division-rival Iowa Cubs on Thursday evening at Greer Stadium.

Chris Narveson made the first start of his rehabilitation assignment with Nashville as he recovers from a sprained middle finger on his pitching hand. The southpaw worked two scoreless frames, allowing a game-opening single before retiring his next six batters faced. He threw 12 of his 22 pitches for strikes.
