Montgomery County Sheriff's Office - MCSOClarksville, TN – The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) would like to congratulate Investigator Sergeant Mark Wojnarek on his promotion to Lieutenant.

Lieutenant Wojnarek began is law enforcement career as a Corrections Deputy with the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office in October 1997. He continued his career in corrections with the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office in August 1999 where he rose to the rank of Sergeant and Team Leader for their Special Operations Response Team.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office reports Santa’s Reindeer have gone missing

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office - MCSOClarksville, TN – The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) is asking for the public’s assistance in locating Santa’s missing reindeer.

Santa Claus visited Montgomery County on Monday, December 17th, 2018 to conduct a preliminary test flight, check chimney integrity, and review his local naughty and nice list.

After setting his reindeer up in a warm barn with fruitcakes for lunch, Santa left the area to search for his own meal.

Austin Peay State University partners with Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office to create mock crime scene for criminal justice students

 

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – Huddled with a group of Austin Peay State University criminal justice students, Mark Wojnarek finally asked the question they had all spent the better part of a half hour trying to solve.

“Are we looking at the scene of a crime,” Wojnarek, a senior investigator sergeant with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, asked. “Some crime scenes can be staged, so are we looking at a murder, or are we looking at a suicide?”

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office releases name of Body Found in Cumberland River

 

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office - MCSOClarksville, TN – Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Investigators have identified the man found in the Cumberland River early Monday morning as Jesse Lee Myer, 31, of Clarksville.

Investigators do not suspect foul play. Cause of death will be determined by the Medical Examiner in Nashville, TN. Official autopsy results will take 6-8 weeks.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office reports Body Found near Yellow Creek Boat Ramp

 

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office - MCSOClarksville, TN – Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) Deputies have recovered a body near the Yellow Creek Boat Ramp on the Cumberland River.

MCSO Deputies, Emergency Medical Services, and The Rescue Squad were dispatched to the area Monday morning after a boater called 911. Upon arrival deputies were able to locate the body of a white male that appeared to be in his mid 30’s on the riverbank.

Scam Alert; Suspects pretending to be Montgomery County Sheriff’s Officials asking for money

 

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office - MCSOMontgomery County, TN – Investigators with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office are again warning the community of a suspect purporting to be a lieutenant with the MCSO and asking for money or other forms of payment.

“We’re hearing of someone claiming to be a lieutenant and asking people to give him cash or Green Dot cards as payment for some criminal charge,” said Sgt. Mark Wojnarek. “The MCSO would never ask for cash, cards or any checks from anyone. Please don’t buy into this scam.”

Montgomery County Sheriff John Fuson added that Davidson County has also had similar incidents.

“Our citizens have faced this scam in the past, and we want to make sure the public is aware that this scam continues across the state,” Fuson said.
