Hopkinsville Community CollegeHopkinsville, KY – On Wednesday, February 26th, 2020, the Hopkinsville Community College (HCC) medical massage therapy program will host an open house at 10:00am – noon and 2:00pm – 4:00pm in the new Emerging Technologies Building, 2nd level.

Current massage therapy students will be providing complimentary chair massages to visitors during the specified times.

Fort Campbell’s Blanchfield Army Community Hospital physical therapists offer course in dry needling

 

Technique adds to growing list of non-opioid pain management practices at Fort Campbell

Blanchfield Army Hospital - BACH - Fort Campbell KYFort Campbell, KY – Blanchfield Army Community Hospital Physical Therapy is hosting level one and two dry needling courses July 19th-24th for military and federal healthcare providers.

Physical therapists Maj. Leigh Anne Lechanski, BACH physical therapy department, and Maj. Richard Westrick, U.S. Army Research Institute of Environmental Medicine deputy chief of military performance, are teaching two levels of dry needling to 27 military and federal physical therapists and primary care providers this week.

Under the instruction of Maj. Richard Westrick, U.S. Army Research Institute of Environmental Medicine’s deputy chief of military performance, physical therapist Donna Gatto inserts a dry needle, one without medication or injection, through the skin and into areas of the muscle. As an American Red Cross volunteer, Gatto works at Byrd Clinic. (David E. Gillespie)

Clarksville Miller-Motte Campus honored Gina Castleberry for 17 Years of Service

 

Miller-Motte Technical CollegeClarksville, TN – Gina Castleberry has been an influence at the Clarksville Miller-Motte campus for 17 years in one capacity or another.

In the later part of 2014 she accepted a position working for Delta Career Education Corporation who is the parent company over all the Miller-Motte campuses and many other campuses around the United States. Castleberry was chosen for her new position because of her excellent service record at the campus level.

Fort Campbell’s Blanchfield Army Community Hospital honors patients during Recognition Month

 

Blanchfield Army Hospital - BACH - Fort Campbell KYFort Campbell, KY – With the help of volunteers, Blanchfield Army Community Hospital offered patients free chair massages, kid’s face painting as well as weight management and healthy eating classes the first week of February in honor of National Patient Recognition Month.

Eight local massage students, shadowed by their instructor, volunteered to offer their new massage therapy skills to Fort Campbell Soldiers, Retirees and their Families February 6th.

Find Your Prom, Military Ball, or Holiday Gown at MMTC’s Third Annual Prom-O-Rama

Miller-Motte Technical CollegeClarksville, TN – Third annual Prom-O-Rama is coming to Clarksville with a rainbow of color flowing through Miller-Motte Technical College’s (MMTC) campus. Hundreds of prom dresses will be collected at MMTC starting February 17th.

In an effort to keep costs down for Montgomery County high school girls attending their proms, MMTC is collecting prom dresses from ladies in the community that wish to sell dresses they will no longer wear, but would like to sell.

Miller-Motte Technical College holds Third Annual Survivor Spa Day with YMCA’s ABC (After Breast Cancer) Program

 

Miller-Motte Technical CollegeClarksville, TN – Miller-Motte Technical College and the Clarksville YMCA’s ABC (After Breast Cancer) Program are excited to hold the third annual Survivor Spa Day. This event celebrates breast cancer survivors who are members of the Clarksville community.

Last year the event was changed from the traditional breast cancer awareness month in October, to November, to extend awareness and give the survivors a relaxing evening after a busy month with other events.

Tracy Billingsley, Coordinator of the Clarksville ABC program, is sampling the services at MMTC. Billingsley is also a breast cancer survivor.

Clarksville resident Russ Shemberger places in top 10 at Murray Half-Marathon

 

Restore Performance MassageClarksville, TN – Russ Shemberger, a licensed massage therapist at Restore Performance Massage on Madison Street in Clarksville, finished sixth overall in the Murray Half-Marathon on Saturday, April 13th in Murray, Kentucky.

Shemberger finished the 13.1-mile course in 1:37:08 and won his age group (male 45-49).

Shemberger is a veteran triathlete.

Miller-Motte Technical brings back Prom-O-Rama

Survivor Spa Day Celebrates Breast Cancer Survivors with the YMCA’s ABC (After Breast Cancer) Program

Miller-Motte Technical CollegeClarksville, TN – Miller-Motte Technical College and the Clarksville YMCA’s ABC (After Breast Cancer) Program are working together to celebrate the community’s breast cancer survivors.

The month of October is breast cancer awareness month and ABC has participated in several events honoring the program’s participants during October.
