APSU Men's Basketball - Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University men’s basketball team will host a squad that scored one of the NCAA’s signature early-season upsets when Fort Wayne visits the Dunn Center for a 7:30pm, Wednesday tip-off.

Barely a week removed from upending then third-ranked Indiana, Fort Wayne (5-2) will visit the Dunn Center ranked seventh in CollegeInsiders.com’s Mid-Major Top-25 and receiving votes in the most recent USA Today Coaches Poll.

APSU Governors Basketball loses 80-70 at North Florida

Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUJacksonville, FLChris Horton scored a career-high 28 points and the nation’s third-leading rebounder snared 17 errant shots but unfortunately for Austin Peay State University’s basketball team he was the only Gov in double figures in a 80-70 defeat by North Florida, played at the UNF Arena, Wednesday night.

The loss was the Govs second straight and left them 1-3 on the current road swing and 4-7 overall.

Cal Poly, IPFW (twice), Troy, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi all have proven to be formidable opponents.

Lipscomb and visits from Wofford and Texas A&M-Christi (rematch) are upcoming.

APSU Governors Basketball foul troubles lead to 85-68 loss at IPFW

Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUFort Wayne, IN – It was like trying to eat fruit with milk or drink milk with steak….things that just don’t go together.

Seniors Chris Horton and Khalil Davis picked up their respective third and fourth fouls early in the second half with the Governors leading IPFW by four points. At the same time those two were forced to exit IPFW senior guard Max Landis caught on fire from the perimeter.

Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUFort Wayne, IN – The last time Austin Peay and IPFW met, it was a battle of two teams attempting to build some momentum.

IPFW came to Clarksville, having won its first game against Manchester. The Govs opened their home season after losing road games against major powers Vanderbilt and Indiana. However, it was IPFW who came away moving forward. The 80-77 road win for the Mastodons was the second in a six-game victory streak.

The 0-3 Governors are amidst a busy first two weeks of the 2015-16 season. By Sunday’s end—and two games—the Govs will have played an NBA-like five games in nine days.

Austin Peay State University GovernorsCancun, Mexico – Gardner-Webb used a 12-3 second-half run to break open a close game and then held off Austin Peay State University, 62-52, Wednesday afternoon, to claim the Mayan Division title in the Triple Crown Cancun Challenge, played at the Moon Palace Resort.
