Instant Peay Play: APSU Governors should challenge at OVC Golf Championship

 

Instant Peay Play - APSU SportsClarksville, TN – It’s been five years since Austin Peay State University men’s golf team last won the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament but come Wednesday afternoon this year’s squad should find itself in the running for its ninth overall tournament title in school history.

The Govs open the 54-hole OVC Men’s Golf Championships, April 23rd, at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at the Shoals in Muscle Shoals, AL, on the Fighting Joe Course – a par 72, 7,258-yard course — paired with Morehead State and Belmont in the tournament’s first day and teeing off starting at 8:50am.

Instant Peay Play: APSU Men’s Golf team looks to be back among elite in OVC

 

Instant Peay Play - APSU SportsClarksville, TN – For the past couple of years, the Austin Peay State University men’s golf program had settled into the middle of the Ohio Valley Conference standings, but if the current trend of play continues the Govs may very well find themselves back in contention for an OVC Title in late April.

The program, which has had a long and distinguished past, had finished in eighth- and sixth-place in the final standings of the OVC Championship Tournament the past two seasons, but head coach Robbie Wilson has his team playing as well as any in the conference in 2018.

APSU Men's GolfFort Lauderdale, FL – With a dominant final round, Austin Peay State University men’s golf picked up its first team victory under head coach Robbie Wilson, winning the Fort Lauderdale Intercollegiate at Fort Lauderdale Country Club’s North Course by three strokes.

Austin Peay State University Governors Football 2015 Recruiting Class focused on Linemen

Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University literally could re-title a popular old Glen Campbell song with its 2015 football recruiting class.

Instead of “Wichita Lineman” it easily could be titled “Austin Peay Linemen” as the Governors expect to bring some 17 new linemen to campus in 2015.

NASA’s Advanced Communications Testbed to be tested on the International Space Station

NASA - National Aeronautics and Space AdministrationPasadena, CA – New and improved ways for future space travelers to communicate will be tested on the International Space Station. The SCaN Testbed, or Space Communications and Navigation Testbed – designed and built at NASA’s Glenn Research Center in Cleveland over the last three years. – will launch later this year from Japan, for delivery to the Space Station.

The SCaN Testbed will provide an orbiting laboratory on the Space Station for the development of Software Defined Radio technology. Researchers will have the capability to load new software onto these devices even after they’ve launched.

Fireball Run Adventurally makes stop in Clarksville on September 29th

 

Community Encouraged To Come Out and Show Support

2011 Fireball Run AdventurallyClarksville, TN – The 2011 Fireball Run Adventurally will kick off their 2,500 mile excursion in Melbourne, FL this weekend. The cars will be rolling into Public Square, Downtown Clarksville, the afternoon of September 29th.

As soon as they make their initial stop in Clarksville, the around-town scavenger hunt will begin with all teams heading out to Beachaven Winery. From there, the teams will search out their first clue and then be off to the next local spot. Fireball Run Adventurally coming to Clarksville this Month

Clarksville, TN – On September 29th, Clarksville, TN will welcome 46 teams to town as part of a 2,500 mile Southeastern race and scavenger hunt that will benefit the local F.U.E.L. program. F.U.E.L. is a non-profit program that helps feed needy children whose only access to food is what they receive at school.

The Fireball Run Adventurally, sponsored by Chevrolet, will begin in Melbourne, FL on September 23rd and eventually reach their final destination in Gulfport, MS on October 1st.
