Clarskville's Roxy Regional TheatreClarksville, TN – Funny, outrageous, emotionally affecting and occasionally angry … Eve Ensler’s wildly popular series of monologues about women and performed by women is back for the eighteenth year with the Roxy Regional Theatre’s presentation of “The Vagina Monologues”, January 17th – February 1st.
 
This year, two members of the theatre’s professional company and a special guest from the community will take the stage of theotherspace, the 50-seat black-box theatre located upstairs at the Roxy, in readings of these monologues based on interviews Eve Ensler conducted with 200 women about their views on sex, relationships and violence against women.

Clarskville's Roxy Regional TheatreClarksville, TN – Funny, outrageous, emotionally affecting and occasionally angry … Eve Ensler’s wildly popular series of monologues about women and performed by women is back for the seventeenth year with the Roxy Regional Theatre’s presentation of “The Vagina Monologues”, January 18th – February 2nd.

Returning favorites Emily Rourke (most recently seen as Patty in A Charlie Brown Christmas) and Michelle Foletta (whom audiences may remember as Daisy in The Great Gatsby and, most recently, as Sally in A Charlie Brown Christmas) will take the stage of the Roxy’s theotherspace in readings of these monologues based on interviews Eve Ensler conducted with 200 women about their views on sex, relationships and violence against women.

Clarksville’s Dancing with the Stars set for Saturday March 5th, 2016

 

Altrusa International of ClarksvilleClarksville, TN – Altrusa International Foundation of Clarksville presents its Seventh Annual Dancing with the Stars show on Saturday March 5th, 2016, 7:00pm at the Austin Peay State University’s Music/Mass Communications Building. This year will be an All-Star Reunion Show with 10 former Stars once again returning to the stage!

The event is held as a fund raiser to provide scholarships to non-traditional students. Our goal this year is to present $10,000 in scholarships.

Special Concert with Big & Rich opened the 2014 Week of the Eagles at Fort Campbell on Friday

 

2014 Fort Campbell Week of the EaglesFort Campbell, KY – The 2014 Week of the Eagles Celebration kicked off on Friday with a Division Run and the Week of the Eagles Concert headlined by Big and Rich with Special Guest Cowboy Troy, Joe Diffie, and Mallory Hope. Sporting events and athletic competitions continue throughout the week, and the 2014 Week of the Eagles closes out on Thursday with the 101st Airborne Division Review.

As things kicked off Clarksville Online spoke with Melissa Schaffner, the Marketing Manager for the Fort Campbell Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR). “We’ve got a great lineup for this evening! We started out with Cover Down, the 101st Airborne Division Rock Band; following them will be Mallory Hope an up-and-coming artists out of Nashville; then we will have Joe Diffie, a big country music star during the 90s, who is making a repeat visit to Fort Campbell; and our headliner tonight will be Big and Rich with special guest Cowboy Troy, personal favorite of mine! I love Big and Rich so I’m really excited about this show.”

Female Version of the “Odd Couple” Opens at Fort Campbell

 

Fort Campbell KY, 101st Airborne DivisionFort Campbell, KY – Fort Campbell’s entry in the 2011 U.S. Army Festival of the Arts Competition is “The Odd Couple”  (female version) written by Neil Simon and directed by Art Conn. Performances are scheduled for August 19th, 20th and 26th at the Dale Wayrenen Recreation Center on Desert Storm Avenue.

Each year the U.S. Army Festival of the Arts Competition sends judges to all Army installations in the U.S. and abroad to judge the theater and recreation center talent shows with winners announced later in the year. Conn has been directing the Fort Campbell entries for the past 15 years, winning numerous awards for directing over the years.

Altrusa held the 2011 Dancing with the Stars Contest

 

Clarksville, TN – On Saturday evening Austin Peay State University‘s Music/Mass Communication Building played host to Altrusa’s third annual Dancing with the Stars competition. The evening was emceed by Cydney Miller and David Medeiros. The contest was judged by Art Conn, Louise Seawright, and Danny Baye, with the assistance of 100 random audience members who voted for their favorites from each round of dancing.  The scores were tallied by Henry Martin from Stone, Rudolph, and Martin CPAs.

Dancing for the evening was Conrad Eddington & Pro Krisa Pilszak; Britney Campbell & Pro Christopher Wayne;Melissa Schaffner & Pro Jonathan Bungard; Jim Knoll & Pro Ann Marie Fournier; Sandra Watts & Pro Chris Larsen; Ronnie Hunter & Pro Jamiee Simon.  Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan was scheduled to perform, but due to a knee injury she was replaced with Melissa Schaffner from Fort Campbell’s MWR.

A few tickets are still available for Dancing with the Stars tonight!

 

Clarksville, TN – Altrusa International of Clarksville, producters of the Dancing with the Stars have a few tickets remaining which will be available for purchase at the door for 7:00pm show. Dancing with the Stars is held in the APSU Music and Mass Communications Building (801 Marion Street) on Austin Peay State University.The ticket price is $30.00 each.

This years dancers include Melissa Schaffner, Britany Campbell, Conrad Edington, Ronnie Hunter and Jim Knoll. Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan was scheduled to dance but was unable to due to knee injury. She was replaced by Melissa Schaffner.
