Nashville, TN – In Week 15 of the 2013 season, the Tennessee Titans hosted the Arizona Cardinals at Nissan Stadium in a game that went to overtime. Despite storming back from a 17-point fourth quarter deficit, the Titans’ rally fell short as Cardinals kicker Jay Feely connected on the game-winning 41-yard field goal in overtime to push Arizona past Tennessee, 37-34.
Trailing 34-17 with 3:12 remaining, wide receiver Michael Preston kickstarted the Titans’ comeback with his first touchdown of the game, a 10-yard strike from quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick.
Nashville, TN – This week’s game renews a rare rivalry between the Tennessee Titans and the Arizona Cardinals. Of all opponents that have been in existence since the 1970 AFL-NFL merger, the Cardinals have played the Oilers/Titans the fewest amount of times—10 games total. The Cardinals lead the series 6-4, including a win in the most recent matchup in 2013.
There have been just three Titans-Cardinals games (2005 and 2009) between the clubs in their current incarnations—the Cardinals played in St. Louis from 1960-87 (they played in Chicago prior to that), and the Titans were the Houston Oilers (1960-96) and Tennessee Oilers (1997-98) prior to taking their current name in 1999.
Nashville, TN – Jake Locker completed a 34-yard touchdown pass to Justin Hunter with 15 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter, giving the Tennessee Titans a dramatic 20-17 win over the San Diego Chargers at Nissan Stadium (then LP Field).
The Titans scored 10 points in the final six-and-a-half minutes, beginning with a 37-yard field goal by Rob Bironas that cut San Diego’s lead to 17-13.
The Chargers then ran nearly four minutes off the clock with six consecutive running plays. But a holding penalty helped stall the drive, and Mike Scifres was brought on to punt.

Nashville, TN – Heavy rains blanked LP Field Saturday night as the Tennessee Titans (1-0-0) took on the Green Bay Packers (0-1-0) in their preseason opener. Conditions were not ideal for head coach Ken Whisenhunt’s first game as a Titan. Whisenhunt was named head coach on January 13th, 2014.
Behind 13-60 in the fourth quarter, Tennessee had the ball on their on 20. In four plays, the Titans moved the ball down to the Packers 7. From there, running back Jackie Battle took it in for a 7 yard touchdown. Kicker Brett Kern connected on the extra point to give the Titans a 20-16 lead over Green Bay. It would be the last points scored in the game.

The Titans tied the game when quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick connected with Michael Preston for an 8 yard touchdown pass with 0:14 second left to play.
In overtime, Tennessee won the toss. On the third play of the drive, Fitzpatrick’s pass to Preston was intercepted by Antoine Cason at the Arizona 30 and run back 16 yards. The game did not start well for Tennessee. During the opening kickoff, Pittsburgh kicker Shaun Suisham lands a kick on the Titans 1 yard line.
