APSU Women's Basketball - Austin Peay State UniversityNashville, TN – On Thursday, March 2nd, 2017, the Austin Peay State University women’s basketball team will play in it’s third consecutive Ohio Valley Conference Tournament appearance when it faces UT Martin at 1:000pm in opening round action at Nashville’s Municipal Auditorium.

It will be APSU’s 23rd postseason trip dating back to 1982.

In the past week, the OVC standings have narrowed from 2nd to 12th place, with just three wins separating the two as Belmont sits atop the ranks at 9-0.

Four inducted into APSU Athletics Hall of Fame Class Saturday

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsClarksville, TN – Four Austin Peay State University athletic legends were enshrined in the APSU Athletics Hall of Fame, Saturday, during a breakfast ceremony in the Dunn Center front lobby.

Chelsea Harris, the greatest women’s golfer in program history; Drake Reed, an all-time great who conquered the OVC during one of the most dominant eras of APSU basketball; and Ron Sebree, a vaunted lineman for the 1977 Ohio Valley Conference football team, were inducted along with the late Tom Lincoln, a star on the hardwood and the gridiron in the late 1940s, who was this year’s Honors category recipient.

They became the 115th, 116th, 117th and 118th members of the APSU Athletic Hall of Fame.

Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum Has a High-Flying Night in Nashville

 

Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum Nashville, TN – The fifth incarnation of the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum (MHOF) Induction Ceremony took place on October 26th, 2016 at the Nashville Municipal Auditorium and a who’s who of Music City’s musical nobility were on hand to witness a high-flying night of music history.

The MHOF first opened on June 6th, 2006 to honor all musicians regardless of genre or instrument. While the Hall is populated by many well-known artists part of the mission statement of the organization is to showcase some of the lesser known talent and sideman who were responsible for creating the greatest songs in the library of recorded music.

APSU Lady Govs Basketball releases season Schedule

APSU Women's Basketball Clarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University (APSU) women’s basketball 2016-17 schedule , released Monday by second year head coach David Midlick highlighted by fifteen home games.

The home slate will be the Governors largest since the 1983-84 campaign – one of three seasons which featured a program-record 16 contests at the Dunn Center. In addition, Austin Peay will host seven meetings against nonconference opponents, the most since 1985-86.

APSU Men's BasketballNashville, TN – Austin Peay State University rallied from a 19-point second-half to deficit stun No. 4 seeded Tennessee State, 74-72, Thursday night in the Ohio Valley Conference tournament in Municipal Auditorium. It was one of the most remarkable comebacks in APSU Governors basketball history.

The victory vaults the Governors into Friday’s tourney semifinals against No. 1 seed Belmont, 6:30pm.
