APSU Governors Baseball has four players named to Louisville Slugger All-America Teams

 

Austin Peay State University Governors SportsTuscon, AZ – Four Austin Peay State University baseball players were named to the 2013 Louisville Slugger All-America Teams as selected by Collegiate Baseball June 30th.

Junior first baseman Craig Massoni and senior outfielder Cody Hudson were second-team All-America selections – the program’s first second-team honorees since pitcher Rowdy Hardy earned second team honors in 2005.

Austin Peay State University Governors Baseball wins Third Straight OVC Tournament Title with 6-3 victory over Eastern Kentucky Colonels

 

Austin Peay State University Governors SportsJackson, TN — Austin Peay State University’s baseball team spotted Eastern Kentucky University an early three-run lead, May 25th at The Ballpark at Jackson, in the Ohio Valley Conference tournament championship game, but rallied to score the final six runs to win its third straight tournament title and a spot in the NCAA tournament field.

Austin Peay Governors Baseball picked first in Ohio Valley Conference Preseason Poll, four Govs named to Preseason Squad

Austin Peay State University GovernorsBrentwood, TN – Austin Peay State University’s baseball team will have the target squarely on its back for the upcoming 2012 campaign after the Ohio Valley Conference coaches named it the preseason favorite in the league’s preseason poll, released Tuesday. In addition, four Governors players were named to the league’s 14-member preseason team.

Austin Peay Governors Baseball announces 2012 Baseball Schedule

Austin Peay State University GovernorsClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s baseball team, the defending Ohio Valley Conference regular-season and tournament champions, announced its 2012 schedule, Thursday. The 56-game slate is highlighted by a 28-game home schedule and road contests at Ohio State and Tennessee.

The Governors will play 28 games at Raymond C. Hand Park, including a regular-season opening series against Illinois State, February 17th-19th. Austin Peay also will host two tournaments in the season’s first four weeks. The Riverview Inn Classic, March 2nd-4th, will feature the Govs, Akron, Iowa and Youngstown State in a round-robin format. One week later Austin Peay will host the Riverview Inn Challenge and meet Arkansas State, Dayton and Northern Illinois in a second round-robin series.

Snodgrass stymies, Hankins swats as Govs stun Yellow Jackets

Austin Peay State University GovernorsAtlanta, GA – Starting pitcher Jack Snodgrass allowed just one run over seven innings and second baseman Jordan Hankins hit a line drive home run to right as Austin Peay State University’s baseball team – the No. 4 seed in the Atlanta Regional – stunned No. 1 seed Georgia Tech, 2-1, Friday night at Russ Chandler Stadium.

Bat Govs sent to Altanta to face Georgia Tech in NCAA Regional

Austin Peay State University GovernorsClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s baseball team, the 2011 Ohio Valley Conference tournament champion, will travel to Atlanta, GA, 6:00pm (CDT), Friday, to face host Georgia Tech in NCAA Baseball Tournament regional play, the NCAA announced Monday.

The Governors (33-22), who earned the OVC’s automatic bid by sweeping through the league tournament in Jackson over the weekend, will play host Georgia Tech (40-19) at Russ Chandler Stadium.  Georgia Tech, which earned an at-large bid, went 1-2 over the weekend in the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament.
