APSU Governors Basketball ends season at Southeast Missouri Redhawks

Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUCape Girardeau, MO – Austin Peay will close out the 2014-15 season when it travels to Southeast Missouri for a 6:00pm, Saturday, Ohio Valley Conference contest at the Show Me Center.

The contest will have little on the line for both teams. The Governors were eliminated from the OVC tourney race a week ago and SEMO earned the final spot in the OVC tournament, Thursday, without even playing.

Austin Peay State University Governors Sports - APSUClarksville, TN – Rarely does a foul motivate a team but that was the case Saturday night as Austin Peay rallied to defeat Southeast Missouri, 80-74, in Ohio Valley Conference action played in Dave Aaron Arena.

APSU's Chris Horton had 21 points and 12 rebounds againest Southeast Missouri.

APSU Governors Basketball no match for hot shooting Southeast Missouri Redhawks

Austin Peay State University GovernorsClarksville, TN –  Southeast Missouri put on a shooting exhibition in the first half, Thursday in the Dunn Center, scoring 65 points in the first 20 minutes of play on its way to defeating Austin Peay, 108-81.

It was the first 100-point game given up by Austin Peay (7-23, 3-12 OVC) at the Dunn Center since Morehead State scored 102 points in a 102-100 win versus the Governors back on January 20th 1992.

The Governors strictly will be playing for pride and building for the future when they play Southeast Missouri, 7:00pm, Thursday, and UT Martin, 7:30pm, Saturday.

Austin Peay State University GovernorsCape Girardeau, MO – Austin Peay will open its Ohio Valley Conference season on the road for a third straight season when it travels to the Show Me Central to face Southeast Missouri, 7:00pm Thursday.

This will be the fourth time in the last five seasons the Govs have opened with SEMO, but it will be the first time the two teams will play a divisional game.
