Clarksville, TN – Now that we have officially ridden into the first weekend of spring, I think we can all just breathe a little sigh of relief, even if it’s just for the fact that it’s officially SPRING!
We might still have some challenging weather ahead but, BY GOD SPRING HAS SPRUNG!
As I was riding yesterday, one of the things that always stands out this time of the year are these little patches of yellow tulips that sprout up in some of the most unlikely places. It’s like they’re saying, “I think I can, I think I can” as they try to hurry spring along. Things haven’t quite gotten “green” yet, so these beautiful reminders are there for you and me showing us that it won’t be long.
Robbinsville, NC – In my most recent trip to the amazing Smoky Mountains, my travel partner and I stayed in Robbinsville, North Carolina. We’ve stayed in various different areas surrounding the mountains, and basically we’re looking for good value and price, so we landed here for this trip.
Just down the road, not even 100 yards, we discovered The Hub. We were VERY satisfied at what we found. Here’s the back story:
Five years ago, Greg McCoy was running a VERY successful motorcycle rental business. A friend of his approached him about getting into the restaurant business. Greg HATES to cook, but the two of them ventured on and The Hub was created. It started as a coffee shop, but that didn’t last long.
Tennessee Department of Agriculture
Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Department of Agriculture says the dog days of summer seem an odd time to start planning holiday menus.
However, if you want locally produced meats grown and processed just the way you like them gracing your holiday tables, it’s time to track down that rack of lamb, pasture raised turkey, prime beef rib, or heirloom breed pork sausage.
Yellow Creek Baptist Church has large turnout for their annual Patriotic Celebration and Fireworks Show
Cumberland City, TN – Yellow Creek Baptist Church kicked off the Independence Day holiday with a bang Sunday evening, July 1st, 2018 with their annual Patriotic Celebration and Fireworks event.
It was a night filled with singing, fellowship and great food. This year’s guest vocalist was Steve Ladd. Ladd has been at the event for the last two years.
“We are blessed to have such good weather tonight for the fireworks. Yellow Creek has been doing this event for a few years now. We always brought in a choir, band and someone to sing. Then we give everyone a opportunity to receive Jesus as their Lord and savior,” said Brother Phillip Chambers, Senior Pastor.
The cook off was held in honor of Dwayne Byard who past away three years ago. Proceeds from the event went towards a scholarship fund for Dwayne’s grandchildren.
Seventeen teams competed for trophies and cash prizes. There was BBQ, ribs and more for sale.

Cadiz, KY – I’ve spent several days this week, riding the Harley around the beautiful Lake Barkley area in Cadiz, Kentucky. If you’ve never had the opportunity to ride through here, I would highly recommend you make it a point to do so.
You’ll find the Natchez Trace Parkway that runs through the Land Between the Lakes National Recreation area and beautiful Kentucky back roads to travel.
The fantastic Barkley Lodge and Kenlake State Resort are must see destinations!
As I was riding in and around downtown Cadiz, I kept noticing these pigs.
