Nashville Sounds defeat New Orleans Zephyrs 7-1

 

Nashville SoundsMetairie, LA – The Nashville Sounds powered past the New Orleans Zephyrs with a big first inning Sunday night at Zephyr Field to set up the 7-1 victory and the team’s second road series win of the year: taking the four-game set three games to one.

Sounds outfielders Khris Davis and Cole Garner provided the two extra-base knocks that gave Nashville the early 6-0 advantage. With one out and the bases loaded, Davis hit a double off the right-field wall for the first three runs of the inning.

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN Memphis Plates Three With Two Outs In Final Frame To Rally For Victory The Memphis Redbirds scored three runs in the top of the ninth inning to stun the Nashville Sounds, 5-4, in front of 9,201 fans on Saturday evening at Greer Stadium.

Nashville led 4-2 in the ninth and Kyle Heckathorn retired the first two batters of the frame before four consecutive Redbirds reached base against him, capped by Chris Swauger’s bases-loaded, go-ahead three-run double. Heckathorn (6-3) suffered the loss while failing to convert his first save opportunity of the season.

Nashville Sounds lose 6-4 to Oklahoma City RedHawks at Greer Stadium

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds dropped their third straight game to the Oklahoma City RedHawks, falling 6-4 in front of 8,889 fans on Saturday evening at Greer Stadium.

Oklahoma City took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning when Jimmy Paredes grounded into a rare 6-4-6-8 double play with runners on second and third. On the twin-killing, Jonathan Villar, who had opened the game a double, scored the night’s first run.

Nashville Sounds lose to the Round Rock Express 5-1

Nashville SoundsRounds Rock, TX – Chad Bell pitched for five scoreless innings as the Round Rock Express handed the Nashville Sounds a 5-1 defeat on Thursday night at The Dell Diamond.

The Sounds have dropped the first two games of the five-game series and 17 of their last 21 games at The Dell Diamond since the beginning of the 2010 season.

Bell (4-4) scattered five hits while striking out five in five frames for the victory.

Packed House Watches Nashville Win, 3-2, Over Round Rock In Home Opener

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds topped the Round Rock Express in an exciting 3-2 victory in the opener of a four-game set in front of 9,503 fans at Greer Stadium on Saturday night.

Center fielder Logan Schafer and second baseman Eric Farris each doubled while recording three hits in the victory. The three-hit game for Schafer was his first of the season and also extended his hitting streak to nine games, the longest active streak on the club.

In his first game back with the Sounds, Farris went a perfect 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. Jordan Brown and Taylor Green accounted for the club’s other two hits.

Farris Sends Sounds Home Happy With 5-4 Extra-Inning Win

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – Sounds second baseman Eric Farris hit a game-winning RBI single in the bottom of the 10th inning to give the Nashville Sounds a 5-4 victory over Round Rock Express on Tuesday night at Greer Stadium.

Extending his extra-base hit streak to nine straight contests, Taylor Green smoked a one-out double to left field in the 10th inning to begin the rally. After Brandon Boggs was intentionally walked, Farris singled to the right field to plate Green from second base for the winning run.
