Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s (APSU) mens golf team will host its lone home event of the 2018-19 school year this October 14th and 15th, 2018 at Greystone Golf Club in Dickson, TN, looking to outlast both Mother Nature and nine other teams at the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate.
In what looks to be a wet and soggy scheduled 54-hole event (36 holes on Monday and 18 Tuesday), the Governors will be facing an Ohio Valley Conference heavy field on the 7,000 yard, par 72 course with Belmont, Eastern Illinois, Murray State, Southern Illinois Edwardsville, Tennessee State and UT Martin joining Austin Peay in the tournament field, as well as Binghamton, Evansville and Trevecca.
Clarksville, TN – It’s been five years since Austin Peay State University men’s golf team last won the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament but come Wednesday afternoon this year’s squad should find itself in the running for its ninth overall tournament title in school history.
The Govs open the 54-hole OVC Men’s Golf Championships, April 23rd, at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at the Shoals in Muscle Shoals, AL, on the Fighting Joe Course – a par 72, 7,258-yard course — paired with Morehead State and Belmont in the tournament’s first day and teeing off starting at 8:50am.
Clarksville, TN – Once again the Ohio Valley Conference will be one of the first NCAA Division I conferences to kick-off March Madness for its college basketball fans and the Austin Peay State University men’s and women’s basketball teams will be right in the thick of it when play opens.
Joining the Governors in the tournament will be Belmont, Tennessee Martin, Southern Illinois Edwardsville, Jacksonville State, Morehead State, Southeast Missouri and Murray State on the women’s side and Murray State, Belmont, Jacksonville State, Tennessee Tech, Tennessee State, Eastern Illinois and SIUE on the men’s.
Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s volleyball team reports this weekend looking to build off its turnaround campaign of 2016 and make a deep run at its first Ohio Valley Conference championship since 2010.
The Governors are coming off a 24-11 season last fall — a 12.5 game improvement from its 10-22 record in 2015 – the fifth-best season improvement in NCAA Division I in 2016 and trailing only Quinnipiac, Notre Dame, Northeastern and Bowling Green.
Clarksville, TN – If you’re a diehard fan of Austin Peay State University athletics or just a casual fan this upcoming week will be big for you, as it will be for several of the Governors teams, with men’s basketball, women’s basketball, volleyball and football all having home events over the next seven days.
Opening things up for the week will be the Governors men’s basketball team, who are coming off an Ohio Valley Conference Tournament championship and NCAA Tournament appearance, as they host a pair of exhibition games at the Dunn Center.
Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s women’s soccer team got off to a 2-0 start this past weekend, to open its 2016 season, and if history holds suit the Governors are now their way to a winning season.
In the program’s 15-year history, the Govs have only had three seasons — prior to this one — where they’ve open play with at least back-to-back wins; with the others coming in the 2010, 2011 and 2013 seasons.
In the 2011 and 2013 seasons, the Govs opened their respective campaigns with 3-0 starts on their way to 9-8-1 and 11-6-2 records.
Clarksville, TN – For the past two seasons, Austin Peay State University’s baseball team had just fallen short of making the Ohio Valley Conference’s post-season tournament field.
But with a spot in this year’s tournament field already locked up, as it headed into its final weekend of OVC contests at Southern Illinois Edwardsville, the Governors came out of that SIUE series also securing a key advantage heading into the tournament … a first-round bye.
Clarksville, TN – This week begins the Ohio Valley Conference’s spring championship season for Austin Peay State University’s spring sports, with both the men’s and women’s tennis teams along with the women’s golf team opening their respective championship tournaments.
The women’s golf team will open the week’s action April 18th through April 20th at The Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at Hampton Cove, in Owens Cross Road, AL.
Brentwood, TN – The Ohio Valley Conference Board of Athletic Directors and Board of Presidents have approved a plan to move the OVC Softball Championship to the neutral site of Oxford, AL, for the next two years beginning with the 2016 season. The eight-team double-elimination tournament will be held May 11th-14th at Choccolocco Park.
“We are delighted to host our softball championship at a first-class venue and are grateful for the support of the city leaders of Oxford,” said OVC Commissioner Beth DeBauche.

Clarksville, TN — Despite hitting three home runs — two by Lauren de Castro — Austin Peay State University’s softball team dropped the final game of its weekend Ohio Valley Conference series, Sunday afternoon at Cheryl Holt Field, to Southern Illinois Edwardsville, 8-5.
