APSU Soccer - Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University women’s soccer coach Kelley Guth has added Hayden Coffman to the Governors coaching staff.

Coffman has extensive experience both on the sidelines and on the pitch and will bring a wealth of knowledge to the Governors’ bench. Since 2013, Coffman has juggled both his professional playing career and a burgeoning coaching career.

APSU Beach Volleyball adds Haley Turner for 2018

APSU Women's VolleyballClarksville, TN – Head Austin Peay State University beach volleyball coach Taylor Mott has announced the addition Haley Turner to the 2018 Governors lineup.

Turner comes to APSU after spending a year at Trevecca Nazarene playing indoor where she saw action in 13 matches.

Clarksville’s Alexa Rippy named G-MAC Women’s Golfer of the Month for Trevecca

 

Trevecca University Trojans SportsIndianapolis, IN – As the season teed off in September, so have the honors as the first month of competition has come to a close in what will be a long and competitive season leading up to the conference championships on April 20th-21st, 2015.

After a month of competition,  Trevecca Nazarene University’s Alexa Rippy, of Clarksville Tennessee, was named Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women’s Golfer of the Month.

The 2014-15 women’s golf season opened in September with a variety of events that featured a field full of G-MAC teams.

Clarksville’s Tyler Phillips named G-MAC Men’s Golfer of the Month for Trevecca

 

Trevecca Trojans SportsIndianapolis, IN -The men’s golf schedule teed off in September with teams playing in a variety of events, but the month closed out with the first regionally recognized tournament, where Tyler Phillips, from Clarksville Tennessee,  finished second overall and helped the Trojans place third.

For his efforts, Phillips was named Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men’s Golfer of the Month for the month of September.

Clarksville’s Alexa Rippy helps Trevecca win two tournaments in four days

 

Erie, PA – After winning the Evann Parker Memorial Tournament two days prior, the Trevecca Women’s Golf team won the Michael Corbett Classic on Monday.

In the first round the Trojans set a school-record with a 310 score. In the second round TNU turned in a 226 for a 636 tournament total.

The Trojans return to action Saturday, September 27th at the NCAA DII National Championship Preview hosted by Grand Valley State University in Allendale, MI at The Meadows Golf Course.

Clarksville’s Alexa Rippy leads Trevecca to first round lead at Evann Parker Memorial

 

North East, PA -The Trevecca women’s golf team started strong and leads the Evann Parker Memorial golf tournament with a first-round 327.

Alexa Rippy (SO/Clarksville, Tenn.) leads the Trevecca and the tournament with a first-round 77. Trevecca’s Mikayla Dodson (JR/Sante Fe, Tenn.) is second place, just a stroke behind Rippy, with her opening round 78.

Mercyhurst University is the host school for the event being played at the Lake View Country Club near Erie, Pa. The 16 teams and 95 golfers will play a final round of 18 holes on Saturday. The course is playing to a par of 72 over 5920 yards.

Former Rossview High School golfer Alexa Rippy honored at Trevecca Nazarene University

Trevecca Nazarene University TrojansNashville, TN – The Great Midwest Athletic Conference has selected Trevecca Nazarene University freshman golfer Alexa Rippy as the March 2014 G-MAC Women’s Golf Athlete of the Month.

The Rossview High School (Clarksville, Tennessee) product had two outstanding finishes in March.

Rippy equaled her career best with a round of 75 to finish second at the Tennessee State University Big Blue Invitational.

Nashville Sounds begin Four-Game Homestand Thursday, July 11th

 

Featuring 2 Fireworks Shows, 2 Giveaways and the I-40 Cup Series Finale

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN –  The Nashville Sounds return to Greer Stadium on Thursday, July 11th, for their seventh homestand of the season. The stand will feature one four-game series against the cross-state rival Memphis Redbirds (St. Louis Cardinals affiliate) spanning July 11th-14th.

The series will be the finale of the four-part Tennessee Lottery I-40 Cup Series, which is currently knotted at six wins apiece between the two clubs. Whoever wins the most games in the season series will be awarded the silver I-40 Cup. Nashville is the current holder, winning 9-7 in 2012. The Sounds will retain the cup with a season series spilt.

Second Full-Time Assistant Principal Named for Barkers Mill

 

The Clarksville-Montgomery County School SystemClarksville, TN – A second full-time assistant principal has been named for Barkers Mill Elementary, which has experienced tremendous growth in student population to 1,003 students.

Melissa Johnson, currently a first grade teacher at Sango Elementary School, was selected to fill the full-time position.
