Clarksville Gas and Water Department - CGWClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Gas and Water Department has planned a water outage on Tuesday, October 29th, 2019 at 10:00pm on Jones Road, Royal Oaks Court, Trough Springs Road near the Royal Oaks Court intersection and a section of Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway (Hwy. 76) between Memorial Drive and Vaughan Road for water valve maintenance on Jones Road.

Clarksville Gas and Water Department - CGWClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Gas and Water Department is repairing a water main break on Vaughn Road causing a water outage on Vaughn Road to Haynes Drive and on Scenic Drive.

Area residents may also experience low water pressure.

City of Clarksville battered by Heavy Rain and High Winds

 

City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – Trees and power lines were knocked down by high winds late Thursday and early Friday across the city, while heavy rains forced water over roadways in some low-lying areas.

Emergency management officials said Clarksville saw from 6 to 7.5 inches of rain overnight, and winds with gusts up to 44 mph. The rain was pushing the Red River and the Cumberland River to flood stage. Localized flash flooding was occurring along the creeks and streams that flow into the rivers.

CDE Lightband Reports Power Outage along Hwy 76

 

Clarksville Department of Electricity - CDE - CDE LightbandClarksville, TN – CDE Lightband currently has an outage affecting Hwy 76 from Madison Street to Hornbuckle Road, Old Farmers Road, Trough Springs Road from Hwy 76 to Sango Road, Vaughn Road, Fire Station Road, Sango Road from Hwy 76 to Trough Springs, Windemere Drive, Hornbuckle Road (Countryside Est, Deertrail Est, Gateway Village Apts, Holly Pointe, Mathews Court, Paula Heights, Red River Est, Ridgewood, Royal Oaks, Savannah, Savannah West, Townsend Court, Townhouses, Wimbledon, Windemere Subdivisions).

Crews and engineers are en route to locate the problem to get the power restored as quickly as possible.

City of Clarksville announces Improvements coming to Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway, Bypass intersections

 

City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – Improvements are moving forward for several intersections on State Route 76/Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway/U.S. Highway 41A Bypass — the popular southernmost route connecting Interstate 24 at Exit 11 and downtown Clarksville — while study continues on another intersection along the route.

Clarksville Street Department update

 

Over $125,000 in materials and supplies have been spent to perform repairs as of today.  About $30,000 has been spent in overtime pay.  Considering the areas being flooded this seems remarkable at this time.  Additional costs will occur as some pipes and other water carrying structures suffered damage and must be replaced.  Sinkholes have formed in many areas.  By combining Codes inspections and Street Department site visits, maps are being constructed that show where flooding took place, sink holes opened, and areas where flooding has occurred many times in the past. «Read the rest of this article»
