Clarksville Police reports rise in Vehicle Burglaries

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department has seen a slight increase in vehicle burglaries from unlocked vehicles over the past week.

One of the recent vehicle burglaries had a security guard uniform, firearm and duty gear stolen from the vehicle.

Theft from vehicles is often a crime of opportunity. Don’t give thieves a chance to make you a victim.

Shomari Moody has been involved in several vehicle burglaries and stolen vehicles over the past four months.

Clarksville Police releases information on Vehicle Burglary Crews, Ongoing Actions

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department (CPD) has been reporting about the rash of vehicle burglaries and motor vehicles thefts that have been going on in Clarksville since May. CPD wanted make the public aware of some of the behind the scene work going on and some of the information discovered during their investigations.

Clarksville Police have identified at least five separate crews as well as a couple of loners that have been operating and committing many of the crimes.

Clarksville Police ask public’s help combating late night Motor Vehicle Burglaries

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department (CPD) is asking for the public’s assistance to help battle the wave of motor vehicle burglaries and thefts which have been occurring across the City.

Many of these crimes are occurring during nighttime hours, sometime between 11:00pm and 4:00am. Based on video surveillance footage, investigations, and arrests juveniles have been large contributors to these crimes.

Clarksville Police will be ramping up curfew enforcement to reduce juvenile related crimes.

Clarksville Police report 16 Vehicle Burglaries, 10 Stolen Vehicles over the Weekend

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department is making the public aware of the series of motor vehicle thefts and vehicle burglaries over the weekend, between June 21st and June 24th, 2019. There were 16 vehicle burglaries reported and 10 stolen motor vehicles. Most occurring during the hours of darkness.

Out of the 16 vehicle burglaries, only one showed signs of forced entry.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office requests help finding Vehicle Burglary Suspects

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office - MCSOClarksville, TN – Investigators with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) are asking for the public’s assistance in locating suspects responsible for multiple vehicle burglaries on Merritt Lewis Lane early Tuesday morning, April 9th, 2019 between 1:00am. and 4:30am.

Three vehicles were burglarized and an additional four vehicles were unlawfully entered and rummaged through.

The suspects stole a rifle, three firearms magazines, binoculars, tools, camera, hand and power tools, and financial paperwork.

Clarksville Police investigates Smash and Grab Vehicle Burglaries

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – Clarksville Police are trying to identify suspects in at least three smash and grab vehicle burglaries.

One of the vehicle burglaries was on January 4th on Hillcrest Drive and the other two were on January 9th on Lowe’s Drive.

The suspects smashed the windows and stole two purses and one wallet which had cash, credit cards, and personal items.

Clarksville Police charge Three Juveniles in Vehicle Burglaries

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – Clarksville Police charged three juveniles, two – 17 years old and a 16 year old, in conjunction with four vehicle burglaries occurring between October 11th-16th, 2018 in the area of Jenny Lane, Scrub Oak and Tamara Lane.

The vehicles broken into were all left unlocked. One of the 17 year old juveniles told the detective that they, specifically, target vehicles which are unlocked.

Clarksville Police Department begins “Park Smart” campaign for Auto Theft Prevention

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – Clarksville Police Department is urging car owners to “Park Smart!” Over 60 percent of the vehicle thefts and burglaries in Clarksville have been to unsecured vehicles or keys were left inside or easily accessible to thieves.

There has been an overall increase of over 100 vehicle burglaries from 2017 to 2018 for the same time frame between January and September.  Guns stolen from vehicle burglaries are up from 64 to 74.

Clarksville Police release update on recent Motor Vehicle Thefts

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – After the Clarksville Police Department initial release yesterday, CPD determined more motor vehicle thefts had occurred between the August 12th and 13th, 2018 as well as vehicle burglaries.

There were four more motor vehicle thefts on top of the eight previously reported. The other four motor vehicle thefts took place at Carousel Court, Fairfax Drive, and Jon Drive which are in a different part of the city than the other eight stolen vehicles but, occurred during the same time frame.
