APSU SoftballClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s softball seniors went out with a bang, Saturday at Cheryl Holt Field, as they defeated Murray State in their season-closing game, 8-2, after dropping the first game of the Ohio Valley Conference doubleheader, 9-1.

The campaign began 6:00pm, Monday, and will continue as 90 hours of giving to raise $90,000 for Austin Peay State University. Included in that is $25,000 worth of matching gifts directly benefiting Governors Athletics.

Those matches came from several generous donors, including Tom Edwards, Jack Turner, Kevin Kennedy Jr. and Adonia Kennedy, First Advantage Bank, The City Forum, Carl and Paula Henderson, Ed Walls, and Kevin and Lisa Carter.

Clarksville Gas and Water phones back in service

 

Customer Utility Billing Line restored

Clarksville Gas and Water Department - CGWClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Gas and Water phone system is back in service and the customer Utility Billing Line, which provides a pay-by-phone option, is again available.

The phone service had been out Wednesday because of an AT&T phone outage.

Clarksville Gas and Water Department - CGWClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Gas and Water phone system is currently unavailable due to AT&T phone service issues and incoming calls cannot be received nor can outgoing calls be made. The customer Utility Billing Line, pay by phone, option is also unavailable.

It is unknown at this time when the phone service will be restored.

Home games against Jacksonville State kicks off APSU Baseball’s OVC Season

APSU Baseball - Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – Austin Peay’s baseball team will open Ohio Valley Conference play when it hosts preseason favorite Jacksonville State in a three-game series, Friday-Sunday at Raymond C. Hand Park.

Due to inclement weather forecast for the Clarksville area this weekend, the Governors and Gamecocks now will play a noon, Friday doubleheader (both nine inning contests) to open the series. A date and time for Game 3 of the series will be determined as weather permits.
