Austin Peay (32-19) will look to maintain critical momentum it gained with a three-game sweep of Morehead State, last weekend in Ohio Valley Conference play. The Govs have won six of their eight May outings and surpassed the 30-win plateau for the second consecutive season.

Sophomore right-hander Kacy Kemmer (1-0, 4.10 ERA) has been tapped to make his first start as a Governor at Belmont. Meanwhile, the Govs offense will seek a better result from its midweek outing after batting only .175 with four total runs scored in last week’s midweek affairs against Lipscomb and Evansville.

Belmont (31-21) returns to action after suffering a 2-1 Atlantic Sun Conference series loss at Florida Gulf Coast last weekend. However, the Bruins are 5-2 against the Ohio Valley Conference this season – their conference home next season – including a 6-2 victory against Austin Peay, April 3rd. Belmont will seek its first season series sweep of the Govs since the 2000 season.

Freshman left-hander Dan Ludwig (4-5, 3.46 ERA) will be making his 10th start of 2012. He was the winning pitcher in the Bruins previous win against the Govs, throwing three scoreless innings for his season’s first win.
