The two-day, 54-hole event (36 holes Friday, 18 Saturday) will be played on a 5,809-yard, par-72 natural hill layout at Arlington. The golfers will be greeted with zoysia fairways, fescue bluegrass roughs and bent grass tees and greens. It will begin with a shotgun start Friday.

In addition to tourney host Eastern Kentucky, the Lady Govs will battle, Western Kentucky, Toledo, Cleveland State, Ohio, Akron, Ball State, Northern Kentucky, Chicago State, Bowling Green and Dayton. Live scoring will be available at golfstat.com.

“We are looking forward to playing Arlington Country Club,” APSU coach Sara Robson said. “These girls are some of the hardest working players I know. They truly desire to play well.

“We need to go out and compete. To be successful we will have to stay focused, be confident and minimize the big numbers. Arlington Country Club is a very playable golf course. The winning team will be the team that keeps the ball in play and makes putts.”

All seven Lady Govs golfers will compete. APSU’s team will be comprised by freshman Jessica Cathey, sophomore Meghan Mueller, junior Rachel Deaton and seniors Tabitha Beard and Lauren Bond. Junior Tala Mumford and senior Holly Batey will play as individuals. Cathey is ranked ninth in the OVC for stroke average at 78.0. In 17 rounds this season, she has shot better than 80 in 13, with two of the plus-80s coming in her first college tourney.

After battling weather conditions in every spring tournament so far, weather conditions look favorable at EKU. The forecast for Richmond is a 30 percent chance of Friday morning showers, with those chances lessening after Friday morning.
