Clarksville, TN – With an eclectic mix of skilled veterans and talented newcomers, Austin Peay State University women’s soccer team reported to camp, Tuesday, with an eye toward the program’s first-ever Ohio Valley Conference championship.

After a day of meetings and getting moved in, the Lady Govs will participate in fitness testing tomorrow morning before holding the fall’s first team practice, Wednesday afternoon.
“We’re looking forward to tomorrow,” said head coach Kelley Guth. “I think we’ve got a great group this year. The girls are full of energy and ready to get after it.”
Several Lady Govs have been around campus for a few days now, with some heading out into the community last weekend to distribute schedule posters for the upcoming season.
Austin Peay kicks off its preseason schedule quickly, beginning this weekend with a 6:00pm Friday intrasquad scrimmage and continuing with a 6:00pm Sunday match against Alabama at the Jack Allen Sports Complex in Decatur, AL. The first of two home Lady Govs exhibition matches is scheduled for 7:00pm, Wednesday, August 14th against Evansville.
