APSU Women’s Tennis sends Two Players to ITA Ohio Valley Regional Tournament

Austin Peay State University Lady Govs - APSUClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University women’s tennis will send a pair of representatives to the ITA Ohio Valley Regional Tournament beginning Friday at the Memphis Racquet Club.

Senior Andra Cornea and junior Ornella Di Salvo will represent the Lady Govs in singles and doubles play, beginning with Cornea’s 9:15am, Friday, pre-qualifying match against Xavier’s Allyson Westling. Cornea will have to win twice to qualify for the main draw.

Di Salvo is already in the main draw and has a 1:00pm, Saturday date with Vanderbilt’s Marie Casares as her first match. Casares, a 2012 second-team All-SEC performer, enters the weekend as the No. 8 seed overall.

Cornea and Di Salvo pair up in 8:00am, Saturday doubles action against Skylar Kuykendall and Marta Morga of tournament host Memphis. Kuykendall is the tournament’s ninth overall seed as an individual, while the Spanish-bred Morga ranked as high 29th among Spanish amateurs during her prep days.
